La Mads is on the pull down list. Makes me wonder how many others are already in the works.

And Tim Hortons. Guess CoCS might be jealous of the one in Bryan.

We have already seen where surveys and polls don't actually override business considerations (Waffle House).

That would be nice but they haven't expanded their footprint in decades… at least to the south.

They are about maintaining a quality of product by not getting too far out from their dairy in Oklahoma.

It looks like Houston is getting an NHL team. I'm going to renew my ask to the leadership of CS (Mr. Yancy) to try and get one of their minor league teams in CS.

If we ever get a convention center or a Moonbeam YMCA, we could consider it. What is the size of a hockey rink along with some bleachers? Would it fit in the footprint of Macy's?

I mean, let's be proactive with the recent wants and supposed needs of council and make. This. Happen.

. Where would they play? Not sure CS would support building an arena for a NHL team.

City is out of capital funds until 2034, if they pass the budget as written right now. They are wanting to spent $55M on a public works facility without taking it to the voters

We already have an ice rink. I bet they would be all in.

They have been pretty public about not expanding beyond a legal 1 day drive from Tulsa (their distribution hub) since the 80s. I wish it would happen. But it won't.

They'll have to figure that out. Most cities in Texas do not have a place for a hockey team to play (with adequate seating). NHL teams have one minor league team (eg Texas Stars in Cedar Park) and an ECHL affiliated team. Beaumont has a facility that was used for hockey before, so I imagine they'll make a run at one of the teams.

Our existing ice rink is not close to up to NHL minor league standards. Look at where the Texas Stars play in Cedar Park at the HEB Center as an example. Or the Comerica Center in Frisco where the Texas Legends play..

You used to be able to play a round of golf for as much as it costs to get a bucket at the driving range these days. #oldmanshoutingattheclouds

Feels like The Range might be in for a rude awaking with those prices (if their primary market is college students)

But maybe these kids have more dough in their pocket than I did when I was in college

$15 bucks is one cocktail these days. They'll probably do fine.

Loaded fries for 5? Pizza for 11? Seem like reasonable enough prices.

These kids drive BMWs financed by "the Bank of Momma and Daddy". The days of poor rural kids going to TAMU on their own dime and driving a 1977 GMC truck are long gone.

Hes not wrong though. There are so many stores and restaurants in College Station now that we wouldn't have even thought about going to when we were in school.

It looks like the West Campus Vivarium will be the next building in the emerging "Agriculture District." The Meat Sciences & Technology Center is the anchor of that District and has already broken ground. The Board of Regents will vote in September on moving forward with the Vivarium construction in 2027.

That won't be going near the Meat Sciences and Technology Center unless it's moved from the plan being near Lot 77 near the Global Health Research Complex and Office of the State Chemist building.

The district was supposed to be North of F&B road as Agronomy Road has its own plan.

I could be out of date though and apologize in advance if I am.

The Meat Sciences & Technology Center is being built off Finfeather. Lot 77 is close and all part of what the university is marketing as a new "Agriculture District."

The Meat Sciences & Technology Center is Phase I and it looks like this Vivarium project will be Phase II. Lots of infill in that area in the 7 year plan.

Nearly a mile away ~ 0.7 miles

The district was originally planned to be the facilities co located with the Meat Sciences and Tech facility and located completely north of F&B road, but thanks for correcting me. I appreciate the insight.

1) it isn't that far and 2) I am not the one marketing it as an Agriculture District...

Not correcting you. I am just reporting what the university is doing. Take it up with them.

So sorry. I must have missed where this was mentioned as being part of the district and not just located on West Campus. I will keep my out of date info off this board. Thanks again.

I guess the driving range then off Rock Prairie has permanently closed?

This place is always packed, I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon.

The Range logo has Est. 2011 on it. Are there other locations or was it operating as just a driving range?

ETA their website and socials do stink.

There is a "The Range" in Lubbock - but have no idea if they are related. Logos aren't the same but the general idea is.
