One thing I remember from Zeitmans is that there wasn't much in the way of "grocery" items, maybe a token shelf full of gourmet foods. I wonder if that will be expanded in the retool.

They started out with quite a few grocery staples for folks living downtown. They pared that back over the years to almost nothing.
Unlikely. They started with quite a few grocery items but they absolutely lost money on those. People were more interested in the deli items. I'm really hoping for for deli items for the grab and go.
The Walmart on Briarcrest is getting a Dunkin Donuts.

Walgreens pharmacy at Fitch and 6 is temporarily closed. Supposed to reopen tomorrow. Store is open. Just not the pharmacy.
That sounds like a staffing issue with no pharmacist.
That store has had staffing issues since at least Covid. We moved to another pharmacy.
The Walgreens on Rock Prairie was worse. I moved a couple years ago.

I thought all pharmacies were as inefficient as Walgreens until we had to move to CVS because of a change in insurance.
It turns out CVS is actually competent...

Coyote Moon Coffee appears to be "going" from its current location in Bryan. Posted something on FB that the record store they share space with locked them out of the building. I like their coffee and I hope they land on their feet.

That was funny and a tad harsh lol. Those of us near there who are mere hoi polloi liked it and it was nice to see students studying at the tables in front.

Can confirm. Headed out to a couple properties past the Brazos over the last couple of weeks and I've seen them out there. Looks like a legit setup, and they've even got those banner signs out by the highway

I believe it's in addition to their location in Somerville. Pictures posted today looked good.

Went to lunch at Marfa today. Looks like someone made a little boo-boo at the future Wright Naeger Dentistry location across Old Arrington. They were breaking out concrete and rebar in a couple of locations in the parking lot. At least a whole parking space worth in each spot.

It's a temporary location of "Crawfish Getaway", which is still operating in Somerville. Sorta exhibits the profit that the crawfish season can generate.
Harvest Uptown Brunch at Tower Point was closed Sunday afternoon- no signs or anything just closed. Anyone have inside info? It has become one of our regular spots to hit up after church.

There is a zoning change request pending with College Station to allow for the old Applebees location change from general commercial to mixed use development. The plan is to tear the Applebees down and construct a new six-story Hampton Inn (design below). I am guessing the existing Hampton Inn just a couple of doors down would then be sold or torn down.
On Thursday, the City Council approved this zoning request. Also, according to WTAW, the old Hampton Inn will be rebranded as another hotel. Perhaps a different brand in the Hilton family.
