Not sure how this will effect the super-efficient Popeye's in this area. I've found that it's much faster to DoorDash Popeye's if you really want it. And they always have a 2 for 1 special on there.

Locations in Fl and Ga. I'm kinda surprised by that. Would expect something like this in California with their crazy minimum wage for fast food.

There has been renovation work there for several weeks.

Their employees are horrible!!! I cannot wait for robots to take their jobs. I just don't eat at these restaurants anymore.

Are you kidding? That location is on fire! If you want your business to thrive, you need to put it in Jones Crossing! It's right next to the Barracks, it's high end, and the traffic there is epic. This is why these new businesses fail. They try and go cheap, like next to the old Burger King in College Station, and they just don't make it. Nobody's going over there.

We're actually doing really well at Mojo Tortill Co. (next to Butger King and across from Wings N More, two major brands).
We are about to buy a food trailer and are doing site selection for a second location. We are on the right as people drive in northbound on the main arterial of this town, and have an extremely robust breakfast as well as 24 hours.

It's possible the previous places were the wrong concept for the location.

The barbecue place failed because it was still around COVID and their parent Beaumont restaurant went under. So-Fly I remember closing because of a restaurant sale that never went through if I recall.

Hardly enough to build a compelling case against that corner.

Not kidding. That location is indeed good, but Teriyaki Madness is not great and susceptible to a very short life from what I've seen personally.

How does Fazoli's manage to stay open?

I inadvertently discovered in college that unlimited breadsticks at Fazoli's prior to northgate would provide a superhuman resistance to alcohol.

I think Italian Taco Bell has some decent offerings for what it is and what it costs.

Probably a year ago now, I heard rumors of a Panda Express drive through going in one of the pad sites at Jones Crossing. I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe that was anything other than a rumor. But, sounds like Teriyaki Madness needs to hope that doesn't happen.

Can anyone confirm or deny a rumor that Readfield's meats and deli in Bryan is planning on closing? This would be a huge loss. One of my favorite local businesses.

Not a rumor. It has been confirmed. However when we were there this weekend they did say that they were possibly being bought and new ownership would make minimal changes

They did state they would take offers and I believe I read where JJ Ruffino was helping the brothers with that process and that they had at least 3 offers on the table. IIRC they indicated they would have a decision by the end of March.

IIRC that happened right before COVID and already had some issues of not being very good. Their Century Square location also failed. There was also a snack bar called Zero Degrees that Urban Bird replaced.

Curious, I've only been twice, very cramped & crowded. When I asked for some inside skirt or hanger cuts, they looked at me like I was crazy. Haven't been back in a year~ish. Willing to try again, but hasn't been a priority.

It can get crowded in there but their butchers are fantastic. Maybe just had a random bad communication w one of their counter service guys.

They have a delicious mufellata at lunch.

Their wildlife smoked sausage is exceptional. We have pork/duck and pork/venison made every year and everyone I serve it to asks for more and asks where I had it made.

Fingers crossed they stay open and the new ownership is able to maintain the same quality, family atmosphere and excellent service.

I have always called ahead and the response has been detailed and accurate. But I can see where showing up close to a busy day would lead to confusion and less than stellar communication. Their online site allows for a lot of customization.

Pork/Duck? Are you bringing your own pork and duck? How does this work? Have had many deer and wild hogs processed there but never duck…

Inside skirt you can get anywhere. Outside skirt they definitely have. I get it all the time there. It's about the only place in town I can find it. The only caveat is they will charge pre trim weight. And with outside skirt you often have to get 3 lbs up trimmed to get 2 lbs trimmed.

Hangers are usually hidden in the freezer case but there aren't any now, or at least weren't any last week. I bought them all
