Yeah the bank building really makes it tough to know anything is back there. Until that building is gone I don't think any business would be able to survive.

I would think when they put the Tower Point location in that it kept a majority of their customer base on the South side of town. Torchys and fuego being nearby with better parking and access probably killed Mad Tacos chance at that location

Just my theory

Peter said as much in his FB post at the time they made the change. Too much taco competition right nearby, and La Palapas opening a block away as well.

Having been to several Snooze locations in Arizona and some of the Houston area Toasted Yolk locations I'd take TY every time.

I like TY better than Snooze as well, but Snooze is pretty good. I also like Another Broken Egg. If La Madeleine still opens in Century Square, there will be some pretty great breakfast/brunch options in town. Mess, Sweet Paris, and First Watch are solid and all pretty close to each other as well.

WTAW says big changes coming to Blinn. They bought the church next door at Villa Maria and Nash. They're going to tear down the church and build an administration building and move their offices in the Tejas Center over there. Plus build a bunch of other stuff.

I got to meet the owners. Sounds exciting. They (husband and wife) have quite the brewing resume, working at Cigar City, Jester King, and Shiner.

Zands. Get a chicken and beef steak platter. With a side of hummus and extra pita. And extra garlic sauce. You will have a great dinner with enough leftover for a "gyro" sandwich for breakfast the next morning. Or at least that is what I am going to do.

Spicy Gryo Platter is where it is at with Zands. (it's not actually hot spicy if that's not your thing). I will definitely go by some time in the next few days to grab my favorite.

Tried it once years ago.

I seem to remember them charging for a glass of water.

I was happy to go to Shiraz instead.

But that was years ago, so could be totally different now.
