I see that the BCS Chamber of Commerce is doing a deluxe ribbon cutting this afternoon at what appears to be a nice looking event venue....in Caldwell. I might be thrown off by the whole BCS part, but don't we have enough venues, and other businesses, in BCS that we don't have to go elsewhere to recruit members?
From the Chamber website:
The Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce focuses on issues affecting the cities of Bryan and College Station, as well as Brazos County.
I like the Chamber and their staff, but the Caldwell thing struck me as odd.
Chambers of Commerce are everywhere at the local state and national levels. I did notice the Caldwell Country dealership is a new member. My guess is Caldwell doesn't have its own chamber and the BCS chamber feels members in neighboring small towns benefit both them and us.
Anyway you can always call them and talk about it if it really upsets you. I've found them to be very open and communicative.
I think that, to be very honest with you, I do believe that we should have rightly believed, but we certainly believe that certain issues are just settled.
