But I do think Lawson is a better driver.

De Vries won F2 in his 3rd year in what is considered the lamest grid F2 has ever had. His main rival was Latifi.
Liam spent 2 years in F2, his first year was paired with Juri Vips and while both had highlights they were on Hitech and their car was just horrible that year, they both had insane bad luck all year long (Vips was straight up cursed). He did much better with Carlin last year scoring like 3 Sprint Race wins and ending P4 in the title.
De Vries is also like 27 which nowadays is pretty ancient for a rookie in F1, Liam is 21.

This Mercedes v RB dice is kinda fun.
Red Bull could leave this weekend with no points. No grip on this track and they still have to pit.
Running hard tires while trying to overtake the field running mediums, and betting no safety car, seems like a poor decision.

Just finished the race. That was fun to watch. Glad to see Carlos and Lando hold off the Mercs. Very smart move by Carlos to keep Lando in DRS.
Drive to Survive will have an entire episode dedicated to this race weekend. So much drama in this race:
-Red Bull was nowhere to be found all weekend
-Stroll cuts the line for qualifying to end Q2, crashes out, affects other drivers qualifying, then doesn't race

I wonder how much of Hamilton asking the strategist to get Russell to pick up the place lead to the crash
I think a combination of factors caused him to make a fundamental error. He clipped a corner hard enough to cause him to lose control of car and crash. Street circuits can be very unforgiving with those tight corners and wall sections that stick out just enough to catch someone off guard. Lando said he touched the same corner on the previous lap but not hard enough to affect control of the car.

This was probably my favorite race so far. Lots of challenging for places and was competitive up until the very end.
That was really fun. only thing that would have made it better was a RB thrown into the mix at the end.
If Max could have caught up to Hamilton, that would have been a fun battle, at the back of the leaders.
But pretty dang fun anyway!
