Probably a stupid question, but do they not do the top 50 every year? Nothing in 2022, and we're almost to 2024.

He likes for people to know that he knows people. It's his thing. He also opened Brett's Backyard BBQ in Rockdale but Brett didn't say thank you so he hates that guy now.

I'd go to Roegels, little to no line and way better.

He stopped doing it every year a while back. Not sure what the frequency is now.

Every four years the new top 50 list comes out, at the mid way point between the top 50 releases, they now do a Top new 25 list as well.

Heirloom is pretty good. It's barbecue with a Korean twist - I wouldn't call it Korean barbecue.

Great quick lunch at Leroy and Lewis before a flight back to Dallas from Austin. Speaking of Korean, it was my first time getting the kimchi here and I do not regret that decision one bit. Simply phenomenal. Also they said they're hoping for January for brick and mortar!

Dinner at The Pit Room

3 meat plate with green beans and elote.

Turkey was tender and amazing.

Jalepeno cheese sausage was okay. I think they added chunks of onions to it. Made it an odd texture.

Brisket was pretty good. Great bark but a little dry.

Green beans were delicious and spicy.

Elote was amazing.

$27

Looks like on the sausage, they could've used a coarser grind on the meat.

Lunch at Roegels

3 meat plate with brisket, pork belly, and jalepeno cheese sausage. I wanted boudin but it wasn't ready. Sides were collared greens and loaded mashed potatoes.

$26ish

Brisket was amazing. Melt in your mouth tender.

Pork belly had incredible flavor. Best I've ever had.

Sausage was really good.

Potatoes were average. Nothing wrong with them but they didn't stick out.

I've never had collared greens so I don't know how to rate them. They were delicious though.

Interior lighting is darker so food pics aren't the greatest.

FIFY. Also, glad you fixed this problem of having never had greens before.

Any other Atlanta area BBQ suggestions?

Fox Bros is legit. Guys are from Texas. Here's few other places I've been.

Secret Pint BBQ - Central TX style BBQ

Rodney Scott BBQ - Has a Atlanta location restaurant

Keenan's Pit Bar-B-Que - Central TX style BBQ

Ford's BBQ - Another Central TX Style BBQ place. Also have Beef Ribs

Heirloom Market BBQ- Owner is from Texas

B's Cracklin' Barbecue - One of Atlanta's most iconic joints
