Went to Smokey Joe's (South Dallas) and had one of the best BBQ plates I've ever had (much less for a random Wednesday). No wait.

Is that a fruit roll-up at the top?
Roegels and Lockhart Plano were both Honorable Mention.DatTallArchitect said:
And somehow Lockhart in Plano made the list.
One of the biggest BBQ let downs I've ever had...and it happened twice.DatTallArchitect said:

That is a weird plate that I hope I never get at a BBQ restaurant.

I'm a sauce guy. With that said, I will pick brisket good enough to eat without sauce before I pick brisket with sauce every time. Their sauce is very good but this brisket needed no sauce.

Sounds like they're leaning into Tex-Mex fusion in a good way, Texas BBQ with a Mexican twist.fav13andac1)c said:
Lunch at Reese Bros in San Antonio yesterday. No line at 12. They just opened in 2022, but I'd be shocked if they weren't on the top-50 when the new list comes out (next year?).
Excellent meal. The standout was the Queso Fundido sausage, but we enjoyed everything. Chorizo flavors with melty cheese. I liked that I could make a herbed cole slaw/brisket/pickle taco with their fresh-made tortillas.

How far out did you preorder? I have done it twice, but its been 7-8 years. At that time, you had to send an email at midnight two months out, but I'm sure they have a better system now.
