Had Fire Craft cater a work function today… this was the only photo I got but we had brisket, turkey, green beans, creamed corn, spoon bread and fixins. No joke, this money bite was the best thing I've put in my mouth in months.



ETA: yes I support these guys. I've gotten to be friends with the owner/chef and I'm helping his business. I do not receive any compensation for this besides an occasional free plate.

I've been thinking about picking one up before I move away next summer. They sell them at Costco here. Long shot I'm sure but does anyone know of a good builder on the central coast that does them well?

Coworker took a photo of her plate from Fire Craft.

I'm a sauce guy. With that said, I will pick brisket good enough to eat without sauce before I pick brisket with sauce every time. Their sauce is very good but this brisket needed no sauce.

And yes, it was kind of a weird menu. Had a lot of XX chromosomes in the room for this one so we opted for veggies and a poultry addition rather than what I'd have been more inclined to order personally. With that said, it was all really good.

They had smoked bologna today. We talked about getting it but decided it was going to be a bit much. I used to live around the corner from Roegels and have never left disappointed.

Lunch at Reese Bros in San Antonio yesterday. No line at 12. They just opened in 2022, but I'd be shocked if they weren't on the top-50 when the new list comes out (next year?).

Excellent meal. The standout was the Queso Fundido sausage, but we enjoyed everything. Chorizo flavors with melty cheese. I liked that I could make a herbed cole slaw/brisket/pickle taco with their fresh-made tortillas.

Sounds like they're leaning into Tex-Mex fusion in a good way, Texas BBQ with a Mexican twist.

Definitely. They also had salsa naranja and poblano mac and cheese. All very good.

How far out did you preorder? I have done it twice, but its been 7-8 years. At that time, you had to send an email at midnight two months out, but I'm sure they have a better system now.

I preordered YESTERDAY!
Said they were out of ribs which I was able to add today.
5 lb minimum and they only allowed 2lbs of brisket because they had allocated most already online.

Super easy. They slice it when you pick up. So it's fresh. Only issue is minimum order being 5lb.
