I got some "top KC BBQ" today. I walked out wishing I had Dickey's instead.
I always get okra at Hutchins BBQSaxsoon said:
I wish more places around dallas had fried okra
I am not a huge fan of fried okra like that, like the little bites moreschmendeler said:
Slight derail, but for my fellow okra bros, got some fried okra yesterday at Perla's in Austin that was pretty tasty.
Just feels weird! pic.twitter.com/pN5I3l7Wto

I thought the exact same thing whenever they put it on my paper. It was not the best, but it was definitely better than it looks.MAROON said:
probably the light of the camera, but that brisket looks unappetizing - damn near looks like they boiled it (yes I know they didn't)

Went to Cooper's in CS this past weekend with my sister and her grandkids. I wanted to try 1776 but my sister had never heard of it, so.....
I got brisket, turkey, and a couple of pork ribs. Sister got burnt ends.
Brisket was okay. Turkey was good and moist. Ribs were way too salty.
Tried a couple of the burnt ends and they were inedible.
I got the green chile and bacon mac and cheese as a side. It had no heat at all.
Overall I give Cooper's in CS a "meh".

That sucks. Hate the mentality of "never heard of it".

Beef Cheek, you're aways hitting up different BBQ places. Are there any BBQ restaurants that didn't make the top list (or even honorable mention) that you would suggest trying? If so, what are they?

Just realized I never answered this!
Honestly I such a BBQ fiend, there are a lot of places I will eat that I wouldn't recommend
But my favorite non-Top 50 are:
Lum's (Junction)
Backwoods (Fredericksburg)
Vic's (Austin)
and any of the True Texas BBQs at HEB.
For a long time Clem Mikeska's and Cyclone were on the list, but Clem's changed their sauce and Cyclone closed
