One last viewing before the season starts
My grandfather (class of '69) died the Friday of that weekend from a farming accident. He took me to my first Astros game in 2002, and he's the main reason I've been a fan ever since. He used to get me personally signed cards from guys like Berkman, Biggio, Larry Dierker, and Jose Cruz and I totally took it for granted. Knowing he couldn't see us win it all tore me up. And despite this being the only team I've ever truly cared about, I couldn't have cared less about winning at that point. I got back to College Station from Houston that Sunday night, and reluctantly decided to watch game 5 just to get my mind off everything.
All that to say... if I ever needed a Game 5, it was that night. I sat in my apartment alone just screaming my head off every time we scored. The Altuve 3-run homer has to be my favorite Astros moment ever. As if it wasn't everyone's favorite game already, this one couldn't be any more special to me. Hopefully by the time I see my gramps again, we'll have a few more championships to talk about.

Didn't Rich Hill give up four earned runs in six pitches? I hate to say anything negative about that game, but that was truly one of the epic bullpen meltdowns of all time.

It still feels unreal that I was at game 5 with my dad. Game of the century.
