If we include Tucker or Whitley in the trade then we are clearly maximizing our window these next two years at the expense of a more extended window.

Morosi and Heyman are pretty credible but hard to see us getting it done without including Whitley or Tucker.

Whitely is rated as the #2 minor league pitcher in all of the minors according to a recent poll. Only Shohei Ohtani was higher. No way he's in this deal for Cole.
I would be 100% in on sending Martes and Fisher.

Makes sense and only seems fair. Kind of a shatty move by the Pirates if that's the only thing holding this up.
If we land Cole, the Astros will have had a part in the 1st overall picks from 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 drafts
Do we really want to burn up more prospects on Gerrit Cole? He didnt have the best season last year
I seriously doubt Whitley goes anywhere, simply because he's under club control for so damn long. The Astros won't trade him when they have Verlander and DK going off the books in 2 years.
