I'm discussing COVID in North Texas. Which is exactly what this thread is about. I've called for no mandates, no closures, no forced anything. That's F16 or COVID board stuff.

Anything that's still closing schools due to staff shortages isn't really "dead" is it?
I get that it's obviously not as prominent as it was a year ago but it's not like this thread disappearing means that no one will talk about Covid elsewhere. That's a pretty dumb take. For those that don't like the thread bump why wouldn't you just unfollow the thread and leave it for the people that don't mind discussing it or the aspects that it's still affecting? If it ends up being Ol Jock talking to himself so be it, but blasting him for adding info from time to time seems weird.

I can't speak for the Karens on F84.
Rolling 7 day new cases has been dropping like a rock. ~10k fewer each day for several days days. Total estimated cases starting to trend down. Percent positive still high, but moving in the right direct. Daily deaths (lagging indicator) trending up; almost to the delta peak level, but still well under this time last year.

With greater accessibility of at-home COVID tests, if you are planning a gathering, you could ask all guests to self-test before coming over. Cracking open a few windows and doors to increase ventilation inside your home is also an effective way to decrease the chances of spread.
