Brown water snake?
You must be new around here.Quote:

Nah he good, many of us have said if a venomous snake was by our house we would kill it, if it was in the wild we would leave it. Not worth leaving it for someone or our pets getting bit and unless you have the training and tools it is not worth the risk of handling it. For a copperhead that is a mature and large snake.crockerdan04 said:
It was a younger one, about 20".
Depends on what is going on, we have some woods and some creeks 100 yards from us. If I have my son with me I may relocate them but my under 2 year old daughter and it dies. But it is very rare to have a venomous one around us, out of over 50 snakes I have seen in the neighborhood I have seen one copperhead and one water moccasin with both of those being on the trails by ponds.zooguy96 said:
Nah, I don't kill any snakes I see. I relocate venomous snakes to appropriate locations. Course, I find relocating venomous snakes exciting!

I got a really nice picture of a Northern water snake and put it into the Facial Book thread. It looked exactly like the one my friend took from her yard. Another woman who I do not know had posted in the thread that she was a "Southern girl and I know my snakes. That is a cottonmouth water moccasin".12f Mane said:

Just today, I get the Facial Book notification. She is on the thread responding to my photo and telling me that I am wrong, and that the snake in my friend's ivy was a very dangerous cottonmouth. Ugh
Agree. I abhor The Facial Book, but you cannot have a page for your business without opening up a personal page. Thanks, Zuckerberg! I never engaged her at all, I just told my friend what the snake in her yard was and that it was friendly. Even provided her with a photo, and she thanked me. She hates rats, so she was all good. Her friend the Southern girl felt it necessary to correct me. Don't worry about it... Some people can't be helped. It is not your responsibility to fix her stupid. You just put the truth out there, make her a little mad by arguing that she is wrong, and hope she gets mad enough to take the time to figure out who is really right. Then you have made a difference
Except that its having its head cut offBadace52 said:
Actually that's a pretty cool picture.
