Eastern black necked garter snake. Location? That's a cool one. I found one in my neighborhood that had been run over a while back. Never seen a live one though.

Sutton County just outside of Sonora. She took off once I walked over to see what kind of snake she had. I moved him a good ways off so maybe he could avoid the cats and chickens since he was having a bad day.

Believe it or not he is actually the biggest snake I have found on our place since we moved out here a year ago. We have a lot of cats that hang around.

Nearly stepped on this rat snake the other day. Was stretched out in the grass ~3.5' long. It wasn't happy about being relocated.

2 of the guys were at the lease doing some work this weekend and this one was hanging around the bunkhouse.

As much as I pleaded for mercy, it ultimately met its end. Guess they didn't like him so close to the living quarters.

First western diamondback we've seen out there. Have seen bull snakes and rat snakes but no rattle bugs (until now)

Not a snake, but close... I am cleaning up some tree limbs that are laying on an old shed on my property and saw this snake shed - about 20 feet up a tree! Guessing rat snake because, well, you know.

What is this? I shot a dove last year and 10 minutes later when I found it one of these snakes had it in their mouth. Scared the **** out of me.
