Hell yeah. I called it last season that Davos wasn't dead!

Barriston just seems like the coolest dude ever to me. Man I hope he gets some serious screen time this season.

Overall cool start up episode!! Can't freakin' wait until things really get going!!!

IMO, Tyrion is going to end up fighting against his own family. They treat him like sh*t. And at this point, why not? Position as hand is gone, no title to CR, and his sister is growing increasingly hostile to him (if trying to have him killed wasn't obvious enough).

Margaery (that fine dime piece) seems like she'll be giving Cersei some of her own manipulative medicine. Interesting to see that develop. Oh, and did I mention she was fine?

I've become a lot more interested in Jon's storyline. The army beyond the wall, a group of people who have chosen their leader. What a strange concept that must be for Jon

Khaleesi, dragons, selmy barristan: awesome. Who the heck is going to stop this group? Not sure what they'll do about that army, but Khaleesi and Co. are quickly turning into the Miami Heat of GoT.

And that nipple scene...dude, seriously?

Stoked for next week!

Expect this season to be more balanced budget wise with more CGI and scenery. They blew something like 60% of the 10 Season budget on the Blackwater episode last year so they had to make a ton of compromises (essentially making 9 episodes with 40% of the budget). It was cool last year just to have such a movie quality episode on TV but I'm hoping it was more of a 1 time thing. Only so much you can make the other parts of the plot all about dialogue.

From what I have read they don't have the one huge event this year they are spending so much money on so we can expect more in each episode in terms of stuff that costs money. The giant was freaking awesome. Absolutely loved the Unsullied scene, it was just as I imagined it.

Margaery is all kinds of hotness and intrigue, the actress they have playing her is fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing her develop into one of my Top 3 in the show and watching her relationship with Cersei develop after that dinner scene.

The giant was cool. Not sure how much play they'll get in the future, but it's cool to imagine it being a factor at some point.

I'm like Seppinwall...dang Cersei for leaving Tyrion's room 30 seconds too soon. I REALLY wanted to see that fight happen (King's Guard and Bronn).


I'm usually not a CGI junky/Nazi/critic. But even I noticed last night that it all looked "cool". The dragons, the giant, etc. I hope they can keep that up.


And I think all of my friends that have read the books say that the third one is their favorite. If the story lines that we see starting to take form hold true to potential, this season looks freaking awesome!!!


So after last night, who haven't we seen updated? Arya, Bran, Kingslayer...... Anyone else?

I've seen all episodes of GoT that has aired yet I don't think I could name but maybe 3 or 4 characters. Why is it so hard to keep up with all their damn names?

Theon and whatever the hell is going on in Winterfell. But I guess that kinda coincides with Bran's story. Somewhat..

Every woman on the show is significantly hotter in character than in real life (except Sansa who looks the same). Daenerys > Emilia Clarke, Margery > > > > Whatever actress plays her, and so on.

Great to see Ser Selmy and the Dragons grown up. In the first two seasons the worst parts of the show were the Dany/Dothraki parts because she was so far away from an actual attack on the throne that it just took away from the political theater happening in actual Westeros. Now that the dragons are big and she's finding armies, at least the "long game" has actually started.

I know who they all are and how they relate but for some reason their names don't stick.

Tony is a memorable name. So is Carmela.

WTF Tyrion and Tywin? It's **** like this that makes me have no clue what their names are.

One thing you will notice as the story goes on, EVERY character is important and almost everything that happens has ripple affect consequences on different parts of the plot. You miss a lot of the greatness of the story if you don't pay attention because you will suddenly see someone come back from nowhere that ends up being critical to the plot. This isn't just a book thing either.

Oh, and no character is safe and your feelings toward different characters will change over time. Very little is black and white. Theon is a great example. He goes from cocky little **** who you hate to a guy that you see is torn between his real family and his feelings for the Starks, he's really a tragic figure.

It takes patience but there is payoff to it all.

Yes, Jamie was one of the Kingsguards for Dany's dad but then turned on him and killed him.

I'm intrigued at the way you were able to notice that there's a Lannister cousin but not know any of the main characters' actual names from the two most prominent families on the show.

Well pot has made my short term memory crap so it's typical in each show I am reminded of their actual name and think something like "oh yeah that's Little Finger" when someone says their name, but then after it's over I'm blank again.

Sadly I'm like that with names in real life. But it just seems that I've never had such an issue with remembering names in all the shows I have watched as I have with GoT.

I was wondering the other day why Robert ended up on the throne after the rebellion. The Lannisters actually killed Aerys and Ned actually claimed the throne for Robert. I did some reading today and it turns out that When Ned, Robert and John Arryn decided to revlot, they got together behind Robert as Robert actually had some claim to the throne as his grandmother was a Targaren.
