So this is how my prediction for the show goes. Every season or so, one of the Stark kids will get picked off, one by one, by their enemies until there's only one left. All the viewers will throw a fit like they have with the red wedding, but that's how GoT goes. The remaining Stark will likely be Arya. Or maybe the annoying little brother who Bran finally pawned off on the homeless chick...but A LOT of stuff will have to happen before anything like that happens. Regardless, the final season will be whichever Stark kid is left kicking the ever living crap out of everybody. I think it's Arya because she's the one with a relationship w/ Gendry, and she'll be wanting to ensure he becomes the new King as he deserves. I don't know where Dany fits into all this, but I hope it's as an ally to Arya because an Arya vs Dany battle would suck because I like them both. I think it all ends w/ Gendry and Arya living happily ever after as King & Queen with The Hound having died in sacrifice for Arya, Jamie as Hand of the King after some strange turn of fate after he and Tyrion redeem themselves (not necessarily the entire Lannister family...just themselves) in they eyes of Arya, and Dany owning the southern half of the kingdom due to her support of Arya. Oh, and Tyrion dies a brutal and emotionally charged death at the hand of Joffry or one of his goons that makes Rob's death look like child's play. The viewers' emotional devastation and hatred for Joffry makes the internet explode. But that happens somewhere along the way...not at the end. The fat dork in the snow with the baby & baby momma becomes a major hero after figuring out how to defeat the white walkers. The end. Oh ps., Joffery finally gets killed by Arya after years and years of being an evil a-hole and making life miserable for everyone. The end.
You lost me at "happily ever after".

the Hound is by far the best character in this story

He and Jaime have definitely been the most intriguing as far as the dynamic of their character not being what was originally perceived (Tyrion too for that matter).

Another thought this morning.....so now that Brienne doesn't have anyone she's sworn to (Cat's dead), I wonder which way she turns and where she lands?

Obviously there's a lot left to the imagination....but I wonder when/how Tywin Lannister turned Roose Bolton? Or if Bolton was the one to approach Tywin and made his own play to be the boss in the North when this all shakes out?

Hey redline.....your comment about Robbs wife getting stabbed in the belly being a message to book readers....can you elaborate without spoiling or revealing anything important?

Based on the way Brienne's character has been developed, hard for me to imagine she would just accept her death and move on. And once Jaime returns to Kings Landing, he has to resort to being the Kingslayer - - he's not strong enough to defy his father.

Maybe he will try to let her go, but I just can't imagine she would not want to avenge Lady Stark's death if she learns it was a Lannister plot. But I never say the mass murder coming, so what do I know.

The fact that he had chain mail on implied that he knew the wedding would get bloody

I realize that.....

But what I'm wondering was why when she looked at his face...she knew she had been betrayed by him. She looked at him....glanced down at his hand....then slowly moved his sleave back revealing the armor (confirming what she suspected). Then she knew for sure. What I couldn't figure out was why she knew to pull his sleave back.

The real question is whom do people hate more now? Joff or Walder Frey?

Jofferey is a stooge / puppet.

Hate? Frey
Fear? Tywin

The doors shutting and the rains of Castamere playing seemed to be enough to raise suspicion. Seems like analyzing him as being part of a double-cross would be natural.

I think she grew suspicious of him when he told her not only that he had been offered a wife by Frey, but that he could have that wife's weight in silver (so he chose a fat wife). When he says that, she gets an odd look on her face. She's apparently thinking that he is a cold guy who will do anything for money.

Then that song starts playing, which alerts her to a betrayal, and she turns to Roose, who will, it seems, do anything for money, and....

She knew something was up when the band started playing "The Rains of Castamere," a famous song about Lord Tywin Lannister's defeat of the Lord of Castamere.

This. It was pretty obvious they met each others eyes and he glanced at his arm on the table which was pretty bulky and not natural looking due to the chainmail.

It's like you are psychic or inside GRRM's mind! The only part you left out is Hot Pie and Hodor fall in love and become the first Gay Co-Kings of Westeros!

Yeah you can totally see when the song starts and the doors shut....she knows it's on.

But I was having trouble getting the suspecting Roose thing figured out. I guess his smirk was enough for her. She knew the game was up...

No way Jaime could ever be Hand of the King. Maybe Left Hand of the King...

I'm pretty sure that Arya isn't going to get over Jaime throwing her brother out a window or having her Dad stabbed in the leg anytime soon either. That one holds a grudge.

Jamie lacks the political knowledge to be hand. he's a warrior/soldier, not a political mastermind.

America's destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.

So much in one episode. Where's blackfish?? Is the wildling morgue thing dead or stuck in the hawk? What happens with Edmund will be interesting. Bran and his powers continue to grow. Poor Arya finally gets there, a tad too late, lol brutal. Jon has to know they are close because of the wolves. Can't wait for next week.

I don't want to give too much away but it'll be interesting to see how they integrate Howard and Tony into the storyline somewhere in the near future.

Rob's wife (Talisa?), was her family of any importance?

Could they enter the fray , bend on vengeance?

This is probably the best thing I've ever read about this show; as a book reader the confusion of names, etc has made for some classic show watcher naming that I've started falling in line with.

Well first off she knew he had married into the Frey family, so his allegiance would lie with the Freys. It was obvious with the doors closing and the song playing that something was going down and Papa Frey was the head of it, so it's only natural for her to assume he knew of it.

Other small hints were that he would do anything for money (regarding the wife he chose) and that he chose not to drink because it would "dull the senses".

Nothing I felt so strongly as an indicator BEFORE it happened, but looking back they were indicators.

Blackfish is the nickname of Catelyn's uncle Brynden.

People continuing to ask how Catelyn knew to look down at Bolton's sleeve need to learn how to read... Two people have very clearly answered and, after just rewatching the episode I can also confirm:

I watched it again last night during the second airing. You really pick up on it the second time.

One thing I didn't notice during the first watching was Frey's talk about Robb not betraying the vow for love but for looks. You can hear in Frey's voice the disdain he has for the Starks. During the first viewing I took it as him explaining that he understood the reason that Robb broke the oath. However, he is actually deriding Robb.

As someone stated earlier, and I noticed it during the first airing, but Bolton makes the comment that he doesn't drink because he likes to be aware and have a clear head. I thought it was kind of an odd statement to make but shrugged it off.

Obviously, it is much easier to see the signs on subsequent viewings. I never put two and two together until the doors were closed. The only reason I knew the song that was playing was because I had the captioning on. At that point I knew what was coming.

The reaction videos are great!

Do people not remember Bolton passing on having a drink with Jaime as well?
