On a 700 ft wall would a 12 foot giant have looked any different a 6 foot man?

Possibly my favorite moment of this episode (that I just remembered for some reason) was when Bran and crew are out in the forest.

Osha is doing what she thinks is all the work and is venting about why are we doing this while they just sit there, etc., and she looks at Hodor for some sort of confirmation. In my head I'm thinking, "He's not going to actually say anything back, is he?"

He looks at her quite confused and just sort of quietly says, "Hodor?"

It would have been twice as cool, mathematically speaking.

Actually, it would only have been half as amazing.

So don't really understand perspective or the idea of scales of magnitude?

And mathematically speaking this is more correct.

Something about Robb's wife felt wrong last night to me too (Seppinwall referred to it).

I was thinking this too, especially when she had that kind of evil smirk and said something like "...all kinds of surprises" to Robb when he mentioned that her mom would be surprised that she was a queen now.

And I don't think she was just referring to the pregnancy.

I actually found some just by searching for them on google.
I've been listening to a few of these: http://player.fm/featured/game-of-thrones

The Boars, Gore, and Swords one is pretty funny. Half of the time they aren't talking about GoT, but it still has some good discussion. NSFW due to language and sex talk. Though I'm not sure who would listen to a GoT podcast on speakers at work.

I think they made a mistake splitting this book up. It feels like to me without actually reading any of the books yet that the prior season had enough content to split and add another 3-4 hours to make 2 short seasons and this one perhaps could have taken the two seasons and cut 3-4 hours out and made it one long season.

I don't think it was ever implied that Robb's wife was reporting back to someone

Yeah, I think everyone means it was inferred. Me, I didn't notice anything.

I think certainly you could get a sense of distrust there. Writing to someone in another language is a little sketchy imo.

I found it odd. We'll see I guess.

Oh, in this instance for sure. I was referring to when they first introduced her, treating the wounded after battle and then when he asked her to come with him. I never sensed anything shady about her at the time.

A Cast of Kings
A guy and girl, the girl has read the books, the guy hasn't. They pretty much just break down the episode scene by scene and talk about it. No spoilers.

Finally went back and watched. Wouldn't say its inferred or implied, but there are some potentially subtle hints.

It's Season 2 -- "The Old Gods and the New"

Little girl Stark is with grandpa Lannister and sees a little slip of paper mentioning Robb Stark and where he's moving. It's the paper she steals and then has to have the "2nd of her 3 kills" because the guard catches her with the paper.

Later in the episode Robb Stark goes to talk to his future love interest who is in the middle of looking around the campground and writing a letter. He starts questioning where she is from and she lies (saying she's not of noble birth), then admits she's not a very good liar. She then asks how long they are going to be staying there, and Robb jokes he can't discuss troop movements with her and she says she's not a Lannister spy and Robb again jokes that is exactly what a spy would say.

Robb's mom comes up and asks her name, she lies again, Robb's mom says she "doesn't recognize the name". As this discussion is taking place, she's rolling up the note she had just been writing.

Now, seems a little too obvious to be actually discussing/joking about the spy thing and then finding out she is in fact a spy... and in the last episode she was writing in Valyrian (or whatever), whereas the note that grandpa Lannister had was in English (though I would assume it would have been translated for him).

But I knew I wasn't crazy that it had been touched upon.

I was distracted during the letter writing scene I suppose

As a book reader, all I can say is that you are very wrong.

Count me as another person who felt there was an underlying deception during the letter writing scene.

It reminded me of something that was said in Episode 2 of Season 3: "I think you lost this war the day you married her" - Karstock

How has no one given Sir Bronn of the Blackwater his due for this episode? That man sat there and just smacked Tyrion in the face with some knowledge.

On a Tyrion note, his hoor sure does seem mighty uppity for a chick who was the camp doorknob before she chanced to meet him. Whine whine whine from that chick.

I never noticed the note thing, but that would be an interesting twist. Or better yet, maybe she is one of Varys "spiders" or Littlefingers "whisperers".

When did Brienne become such a crappy warrior? 3 episodes ago she was dueling the great Jamie Lannister and winning. Suddenly she is thrown in a bear pit and can't manage to smack it a few times with a wooden sword to save her life??

Bran needs to get somewhere fast. His story is dragging.

Vuvuzela time. Braaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Ha!

Bronn's "she's a good foot taller than you" comment was hilarious. (Believe it was in response to "she's just a child")

When they refer to "The Twins" are they talking about the two guys whose dad is mad that Robb didn't marry his daughter? The guys that made the deal for Robb's uncle to marry their sister?
CheeseSndwch
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The Twins is a reference to the Tully's castle (twin towers) that protects the river crossing. The same place that Rob made his marriage promise in order to get permission to cross the river.

Yes, correct except it is the Freys' castle

The Twins is the castle/keep that Walder Frey holds. The keep is on an island in the middle of a river. It has two waycastles on either side of the river attached to the main keep via bridges giving it it's name.

I think you're underestimating that she's fighting a BEAR with a STICK. I agree they could have show'd her whacking it a few times to make her look better, but still.

Yeah it's a wooden sword...not much even the best could do with that.
