yes, in season 1 ned stark sends him to hunt down the Mountain and bring him to justice. I believe this is a different actor, though

Awesome episode.

Last week when the guy kept insulting her I had a feeling she could understand him... when she offered him the dragon I knew it for sure, and that she would end up taking them all out.

I thought all the shots of dany's eyes were a tip off during last week, and then tonight when the guy calls her a b tch the first time...she gives him a look that says you bout ta die!

The last three scenes were really good, action wise--Dany, the rebellion of the night's watch, and the Arya group. Love the Tyrells, too.

But, I am SO glad this episode is over so we can get back to what is important... calling each other "DB"s while non-book readers complain about whether something is a spoiler or not and book readers get all butt hurt.

LOL. I heard that last night, but it didn't register at the time.

That was right after the Mountain was going on a rampage throughout the North and leaving bags of dead fish to pass it off as the Tully's.

To the non readers:

It seems like they want us to think the kid F'ing with Theon was sent there by his family to test his loyalties. But he didn't break down until they were back in the corridor to the torture chamber.

It couldn't be a plot by the people holding him because he slaughtered the guys trying to catch him.

Could he be sent there by Robb to get info about his brothers? It did seem like he was pretty interested finding out who it was he burned.

But man did that guy have an evil look on his face when Theon got captured.

The mountain was raiding the riverlands on behalf of Tywin Lannister because Cat took Tyrion hostage

The Dany scene at the end was my favorite of the entire series so far. So much win.

So many different story arcs going full bore in this episode, this season is just greatness!

I ended up watching the Dany scene 3 times. That was AWESOME! I called it last week about her jacking the city, but I didn't realize she could speak the language. I must have missed those clues that some of you guys were picking up on....but the looks on everyone's faces when she started barking out orders was just incredible.

The Night's watch.....dang.....what a mess. There may be more to the Sam story, but I hope not. His character annoys me to no end and I hope there isn't a ton of time/story devoted to him, the girl and the baby.

The Tyrells are greatness. The queen to be is one seriously manipulative chick. She's figured out how to push the punk's buttons like nobody else and it's actually fun to watch. The grandmother is quickly becoming a favorite character. I've become entranced with the "banter dialogue" characters (Tyrion, the grandmother, Varys, etc.). I thought it was hilarious that people were still talking about Podrick....trying to figure out what made him awesome between the sheets.

The guy that Varys had in that box.....was his mouth sewn shut? And I couldn't decide if Fedex had just delivered that guy...or if Varys had had him for a while and just kept him in that box for torture purposes.

Another example of being careful what we say regarding what's different from the book and what isn't. My brother (book reader) spoiled the Theon story line. I thought Theon had escaped for good (as had my brother) so he told me how the book had been "different" and filled me in on what really happened in the books (thinking the show had changed it). Only to find out that while slightly different, some scenes like last night actually were in the books. So....just be careful.

I recall that he ("Boy" in the credits, apparently) said to Theon "Winter is Coming" sometime during the phony rescue. He's tied (or we're supposed to think he's tied) to the Starks in some way.

in fact, let's do a process of elimination:

He's not loyal to the captors, seeing as how he killed 4 or 5 of them.

He's clearly not on Theon's side.

I donn't think he's on the Greyjoy side. The Greyjoys would either want him back (and Boy only pretended to help with that) or they're in with his tormentors, who Boy just killed a few of.

They're either in or not far out of the north lands, so who else could he be? The captors are most likely Boltons, and Boy killed a few captors, so he's probably not with them either.

Gotta be a Stark operative. Lannisters/Baratheons/etc wouldn't give a s&*t about Theon.

Think Varys just received the shipment since he was talking about being patient when it comes to revenge... Then he said something like Hello old friend when he opened the box.

What were some of the hints that Dany spoke the language? I totally didn't see that coming at all.

Great episode!

I can't take credit for this, but it's awesome:

In some of the earlier posts guys were saying that they could tell by how she was reacting to the main guy in charge. I thought maybe she could tell he didn't like her by his attitude and tone at times but I never picked up on her actually understanding his words.

Sex Panther
How long do you want to ignore this user?
There weren't any hints really, you could just kinda sense it coming. I just had a feeling with how insulting he was being to her that she'd get the last laugh. And when she offered him a dragon, I knew she was going to kill him. There is no way she'd give up that.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
There was no real hint based on the acting, but in the last two episodes they hammered it home by him being insulting over and over again. Was no real reason for them to continually show that unless it would be significant.

This is what I was thinking. If you remember in the previous episode he says "Winter is coming". I think that was a tip off he was with the Starks.

She killed the previous sorcerer type who tried to trip her up in the previous city by having the dragons set things on fire. She had that sorcerer who messed up her "moon and stars" burned too. It's kinda her thing and I wouldn't doubt it happening to anybody crossing her.

Note to self. If you meet a woman who has dragons, don't piss her off.

After Daenerys bargains for the translator, the translator says "valor morghulis." Daenerys translates it for the audience, "all men must die, but we are not men."

Podrick is my new favorite character. Each episode this season gets better. Dana is incredible, I felf that's exactly what was coming all along. I agree the dude that screwed over Theon has to be working for Rob. The nights watch is decimated, plus one on hoping Sam doesn't become a major story. Still confused on who has Bran?
aggie93
How long do you want to ignore this user?
So far in the show this is what has been revealed about the Jojen and Meera Reed, who are with Bran. They are the children of Howland Reed who is a Bannerman to House Stark. Bran also said that his father told him that Howland Reed saved his life but so far has given no more detail. They are crannogmen from "The Neck" which is the swamplike area that separates the North from the South in Westeros.

They are definitely different from most Westerosi but how has not been fully revealed. Jojen has similar powers to Bran in terms of being able to see things in dreams from the past, present, and future. His sister Meera is stronger and more proficient with weapons than he is and acts as his protector.

Valor Morghulis is a pretty common phrase used in the free cities, but yes, that scene was kinda spoilerish if you were paying attention.

I guess I am in the minority in rooting for the nerd on a nerd's show?

Seriously, GRRM is a fat nerd. You think the fat nerd in the story isn't going to end up with the girl and play a huge part in saving the realm?

Maybe. But the assassin taught Arya that same phrase last season. It didn't phase the translator. She was as shocked as everyone else last night when Dany started slinging the language around. I took it as kind of a Carpe Diem type phrase. Not everyone's language but a common phrase.
