I've read the first book....that's it. And I'm loving how this season is going. Each week I find myself clicking on the "time left" button on the remote hoping that it's not almost over, only to find out it's almost over. It's flying by, and I'm wanting more.
Also, did they hint that the hot queen-to-be is a bit of a ***** or did I read too much into that?
She seemed surprised that Sansa didn't know how to "please a man". And we saw last season that she was cool having Loras get Renly "inspired" to put a baby in her. So...she seems DTF....

My brother has read all the books and this past week said he's come to the conclusion that he thinks the shows are better than the books (at least to this point). Not sure what made him come to this conclusion....just thought Salty might appreciate that aspect.

No I don't think you read too much into it. I think they were most certainly implying that the hot queen-to-be has been around the block (and possibly isn't a virgin).
I've read all the books and I think the show handles many things better. It's a benefit of knowing much more of the story right from the beginning (you can start to tease certain character traits or foreshadow much later events).

She seems to be quite adept at using her feminine wiles to influence Joffrey as well, something I have a feeling we're going to see a good bit more of.
As per the season as a whole, it has been a bit slow at times but I've got a feeling we're in for at least one big WTF moment before the end of the season. At least I hope we are.
I thought he dragons last night were fantastic BTW, they've been outstanding the past few episodes.
Generally, I hate CGI, but the show has done a good job with the dragons.

During season one who would've guessed the main Starks & Lannisters are slowly becoming side plots with Snow, Halfman, & Dany carrying the show?

Theon did make his bed and his torture doesn't excuse winterfell but I still hope he puts a sword through hornblowers foot, *****, and head.
I am enjoying this season as well, though I readily admit it has been a bit slower. But the Dany scene alone was better than anything in the show so far, with the possible exception of Blackwater Bay.

The small recon force is probably going to try to open a gates to let the army through.
We haven't seen the progress of the night's watch since Mormond was murdered. We also don't know if they've returned to castle black yet.
It could be a race to the castle and Mance could walk into an undefended stronghold.

I was wondering that as well. One scene showed thousands of them and then I had the impression they were all going to climb the wall together. I was hoping to see the giant climb the wall! Since the scene that showed the camp I've only seen 15 or so together. Did they send a scout party first or something?

From what I understand jon snow and his group are an advance party or they split up into many small groups and plan on converging on castle black when the king mance lights the biggest fire the north has ever seen

Castle Black has no fortifications to the South, thus an attack from that side would be both unexpected and difficult to defend against. The goal would also be just to get the gate open so the big army Mance has can come through.
Remember Jon and redbeard arent attacking until they get the signal, thus you can assume its a coordinated attack.
And here I thought the show has moved way to fast.

On the questions about Margery tyrell and her sexual nature. It was mentioned that Renly, never consummated their marriage, meaning they never had sex, meaning that she'd be fresh for Joffery. But he wouldn't get her "flower", because of all the horse back riding she did as a child.

I know a lot about ladies, and it is my understanding that they go horseback riding to get rid of that not so fresh feeling. That or play tennis. Are you saying sex made her feel not so fresh?
