"My name is Jaime."

Most revealing line of the episode.

Ugh. I didn't watch this damn show until after season 2 ended, so I got the pleasure of watching the first two seasons over an extended weekend. This wait-a-week-for-a-new-episode crap is terrible.

Solid show tonight, but I want to know more about Theon's situation... Guess that comes next week.

Oh, and more dragons, please.

Felt like this was not as action packed as last week's episode. We got a lot of back story filled in tonight. Still a good episode. I was waiting to hear about how the king slayer name was given.

No comments on the hound fighting Dondarrion and splitting him in 2?

Yeah didn't even think about how alone Arya is. Even when if she makes it back to rob she is still going to feel like an outsider I'm sure.

Definitely an interesting side to see of Jaime, very good episode for some backstory on how he really feels.

Rob... that was a lose lose situation. Either you have some rogue ******* that made you look like a weak fool to your whole army, or you lose half your army. The good guys never get a break in these books lol.

Yes, I'm strongly considering cancelling HBO and catching up on HBO Go after the season.

This is why there are so many book readers. The worst feeling though is when you plow through all the books and even the D&E tales and realize it will be years before something truly new is out.

Don't you have to subscribe to HBO to get HBO go? Or maybe you are going to cancel now and add it back later?

No one has mentioned Sansa and the midgets proposed marriage. I think it's hilarious.

I figured there would be more discussion about Beric Dondarrion. I thought I was going crazy, because i was pretty sure i saw him get his entire left torso cut off, then he is alive and well. Had to rewind the scene to make sure i saw it right. Of course they went on to explain that this is the 6th time he's been resurrected. Quickly becoming a very interesting character imo.

Maybe it was just overshadowed by the awesomeness of the rest of the episode.

I don't get the motivation from Karstark to kill the kids either. I mean I get it, but I don't get it at the same time. He had very little to benefit from such a move.

Those kids were what 5th-6th in line?

Which was Robb's entire point.

Regarding the fight with the Hound, I thought his survival was interesting as well. So at this point, we have 3 fairly stout groups of magic/sorcery going. We've got White Walkers north of the wall. Dany and her dragons. And the Lord of Light doing it's thing raising people from the dead, showing things in the fire to Stannis, and making shadow baby assassins. That's three fairly powerful groupings (I give the edge to the dragons) heading on some kind of collision course far into the future.

Pretty cool overall!!!

Quick question, is the Lord of Light and the "Red God" to whom Jaquen Hagar refers, the same thing?

I can't remember.

(enter The Debt telling me what an idiot I am for not knowing the answer to the above question)

Stive - Correct. Lord of Light AKA the Red God... and to further connect what some may have missed on the show: Thoros and Melisandre are a priest and priestess of the Red God.

For the night is dark, and full of terrors...

Anyone else get all verklempt during Dany's scenes? I thought Grey Worm's little speech about why he's sticking with the name "Grey Worm" was pretty moving. The Unsullied, along with Jorah and Selmy, really believe in that girl.

They don't, you'd have to make it a magic square, then throw in the chick with the crazy mask in Qarth and you have a magic pentagon, and let's not forget about Bran/Jojen and their dreams...

Lot's of magic being reborn since the birth of Dany's dragons. The Warlocks mentioned it when Dany was in the HotU.

And Sansa betraying her because she was in love

And she probably has heard that Bran and Rickon are dead

Now I understand that some marriages can be arranged for power, alliances, etc., but don't you usually have to have the consent from both families? In other words, just because big bad Tywin says that Cersei is to marry the gay Tyrell dude, doesn't mean that his family has to agree, right? And Sansa, even as a captive, is still a Stark. Forcing her to marry a Lannister would be almost like servitude, which according to law (see Jorah) is a no-no.

Ultimately, since Joffrey is King, the Lannisters have all the power. If they say you're marrying so-and-so I don't think you're saying "no thanks."

Karstark was obsessed with vengeance for his sons and grew increasingly frustrated that Robb seemed to be going farther away from getting that vengeance for him. Finally the Lannister boys were all he could find for his revenge and he took it.

While technically the Tyrells would have to agree to a marriage they wouldn't really have a choice. That was the point of Tywin talking about what is openly stated and what is schemed. If Tywin/Joff proposed a marriage of Cersei to Loras it would be a grave insult for them to dismiss it. They are allies and they are the royal family. If you say no you better have a damn good reason and the only real reason would be the bride/groom in question already being promised to someone else (which still may not be a good enough reason).

Sansa's family are officially traitors and thus she is a Ward of the King. He can do whatever he wishes with her. LF spoke of this last season when he essentially said Joff could make her in to his ***** if he wished.

Stannis has a pretty ****** up family life

Really good episode for Jamie and Brianne. Great scene in the bath house.

The Hound cut through Baric like the Mountain cut through that horse in S1. I also loved that little Arya tried to attack the Hound. Girls got fight and is fearless. It looked like Gendry standing next to her as she drew her arrow in the previews so maybe he isnt staying.

Tywin shows that he swing the biggest sword in the Lannister family by putting both of his children in their place. Funny that this comes on the heals of each of them asking for more power.

Robb Stark is his father and let his convictions get in the way of reason. Im better the Frays dont give him the time of day.

That last shot of the two of them on either side of the table, looking like someone peed in their cheerios while he walked off was awesome.

It was also great that Cersei was so smug, grinning ear to ear at Tyrion's orders right up until her Pops turned the tables on her.

Tywin is a huge tool that his own family hates. I bet later on down the road, they betray him. Probably still a few seasons away though.
