no you aren't. Just like last year, I've never seen such an urge for nerds to get off by "helping" us poor tv only watchers as we watch week to week. If you read one book, and are "making guesses/predictions based off what you know"....stfu. If you read all the books and are "helping us" stfu. we obviously don't want to hear the differences, similarities, reasons for things, or anything. If we wanted to, we'd read the ****ing books.

I agree with you completely.

But we are HUGE DB's for wanting the book readers to stay on the book reader thread.

They have their own thread but get a stiffy by pointing out they know what is going to happen on this one. Like we "illiterates" are going to hero worship their clairvoyance.

Say Chowdah, you should read the books!

I thought you blocked me!!!?

You are a DB for trying to make a list of posters for doing something that they don't do.

This is a non-spoiler thread. It does not say anything about readers vs non-readers.

Stop posting as a DB and people won't call you out for being a DB -- which you obviously are.

Have a nice day DB!

True it doesn't say anything about readers vs nonreaders. But as I posted earlier...until you know something isn't in the show please don't start sharing what was in the book versus what was shown in the show. They've already proven that they are putting things into the show at different times than they're revealed in the books. And the how's creators have spoken before that this will likely happen more often in the future than it already has.

Just like with the Theon situation...it's been two episodes with him in his situation and they still haven't shown (other than the apparatus to which he was attached) who has him. So before people go spouting off about who has him, it's possible the TV people want to reveal that at a different time for a different reason than what the book did.

So all book readers go easy....

As a book reader, I have to agree with Stive. I spent the first two seasons on this thread, before I read the books, and some of the "readers" who were trying to help were really overbearing.

Now, I hardly post on this thread, and when I do, I try to simply correct misconceptions/mis-rememberings about things that happened on the show.

All the extra things we know has the potential to enrich the show, yes, but it also has the potential to ruin the experience if the wrong thing gets told to the wrong person. This gets brought up every damn season of every major show that has source material, and it's really ****ing annoying. Just leave your knowledge of the books at the door when you come into this thread. If you can't do that, stick to posting in the spoilers allowed thread.

new season of game of thrones, same arguments about spoilers

FTR i do think it's annoying when my compadres from the other thread come over and compare the show to the books. but i think both sides get butthurt too easily

personally, i get way more enjoyment out of lurking (but not posting) over here after an episode to see what sort of theories the TV-only guys come up with. i also like watching the show with friends who are completely unspoiled to see their reactions to stuff (seeing friends' faces after s1e09 was greatness)

Unfortunately the block function doesn't work on my iPhone (if anyone can tell me how to do it, I would block you again).

For the record I did say can't help themselves. I don't think you are deliberately trying to spoil things. But that doesn't mean you didn't. Just so happens I read what you posted before you deleted it.

But the same question exists: why do you post on here when it is obvious that MANY don't want the details you want to reveal to be revealed!!!! Hence I'd rather block your posts than read what you THINK is innocently trying to HELP.

I figured we could use this for those of us who haven't read the books.

First post of this thread.

It took less than 1 hour for this to get posted and yet I am the DB.

The battle for King's Landing in the book was much more dramatic.

I used to enjoy this thread because it pertained to the tv show. Now it's full of juvenile bickering. Oh we'll. it was good while it lasted.

This will be followed by numerous not-my-fault posts.

At this point, the show's not going to have some explicit "reveal" of who's holding Theon, they're just trusting you to be observant enough to notice what family it is or just remember last year that it was basically already "revealed" for people who care to remember.

They're not dumbing it down, they've shown enough for you to know already or do a tiny bit of homework to find out.

I could give further information as to how I think it's not going to be some "big (redundant) reveal" of who's holding him, but that WOULD be a spoiler.

Apologies dahouse, just having a little fun with a DB who likes to be a holier-than-though, jackhole who likes to publicly call people out for something they don't do and tries to back it up by quoting something that isn't anywhere near being a spoiler.

BTW, the quote he posted above is for anyone who is undecided about reading the books. Hopefully knowing that the Blackwater chapters are more dramatic than what was shown on the TV show will help persuade someone to get the books.

The ignorance of trying to call this a non-readers only thread and trying to run off readers is astonishing.

This sort of thinking really bugs me. I've read all the books and I really love reading non-readers' commentary and reactions. I spend a decent bit of time in the days after new episodes air reading through message board and recap comments. If I determine (through admission or content) that a post or comment is from a reader, I generally skip it. The best stuff comes from people experiencing the material for the first time - unspoiled and uninfluenced.

What really drives me nuts is the inability of book readers to leave non-readers alone. There are plenty of places to discuss how the novels and series diverge. The newbies don't need our help. They generally don't want our help. And some people are so dense or so selfish their "help" actually damages the experience of the new viewers.

i gotta agree with grasshopper...again, as someone who loves both versions of the story, i don't think the tv-only guys gain squat from being told "what they're missing" from the books. we're all intelligent people, if they wanted to see what was different, they'd read the books

case in point - someone who hasn't read the books went over to the other thread recently to ask about specific differences, and he got the answers he wanted. if anyone who posts here desires an explanation of the deltas, they are more than welcome to come ask in the other thread. that's what it's for - to discuss differences between the two mediums and how knowledge of the books affects our processing and enjoyment (or lack thereof, as appropriate) of the show. this thread is decidedly NOT that - it's for one medium only

Wow...you're smart! And you know this how? Because its playing out exactly like the books? Oh wait...

As a fellow book reader, the book readers need to chill and stay off this thread unless they are strictly discussing the show. The non readers don't need to be convinced to read it by you either. Like me, if they want to read it, they will. I love this thread because I love the reactions and I want the reactions to be as honest as possible.

Same here! The freeing of the slaves was awesome! She did the same thing after Khal Drogo died. However, I was NOT expecting her to be able to speak Valerian. She is full of surprises!

And still very awesome to watch.

So I'm not sure if I just missed a minor detail but I'm wondering what's with the guy that rescues Theon only to bring him right back.

Larry that should be explained sooner rather than later. Also, check HBOGo they might have some more details that won't be considered spoilers for you at this time.

That person will be in at least one future episode and hopefully they reveal who he is at that time, by dont know for sure

Taken as a whole, I think this was the best episode in the 3 seasons of the show. How great was tonight's episode - - - there was no time for any nudity.
