What does Melisandre mean when she says this to Arya?

I assume she was referring to the eyes of those on Arya's "to-kill" list.

he wasn't a Karstark, he said he was lying about that

I'm surprised it took so long for someone to ask that. Seemed to be one of the most cryptic lines in this episode.

Maybe he's the ******* that was sent to winterfell

He just said he was a liar but didn't say what he was lying about. His reaction to Theon guessing that he was a Karstark and that he was torturing him for Robb is what makes me think he may actually be a Karstark. He genuinely looked surprised and disappointed that Theon guessed it.

Cannot really answer the question about Mel and Arya without spoilers.

Joffrey has blue eyes, Cersei has green eyes, but Ilyn does not look like he has brown eyes.

He is right though. Even a nondescript hint on where to look for clues would reveal the answer too easily.

I took it that Arya is going to be a person to be dealt with. Assassin maybe?

I thought the conversation between the to priest was interesting. "can't believe god gave you this power" "I don't have powers god has powers" Faction in the church of light?

I COULD ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS IF I KNEW THE ANSWERS, WHICH I MAY OR MAY NOT, BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT ANYONE ON THIS THREAD IS ASKING FOR SO I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT.

When Theon was guessing the locations of the torture chamber, anyone know what his guesses were? I didn't catch the "where," only that he guessed the torturer was Lord Rickard's Karkstark's son brother and that they were in the "north."

And where is Lord Bolton right now? And is he still fighting for Robb? Seems like he's trying to save his own skin by striking a deal with Jaime...

Deepwood Motte was one. Karhold was another. I think he mentioned a 3rd but I don't remember it.

Still in Harrenhall and yes.

Jread, I think the red lady was just pissed that a drunk and poor excuse for a priest of the red god has brought someone back to life 6 times, while she has not done that. But I bet he anit birthed any smoke babies either.

If I had to make my second stab in the dark of the series... possibly Arya has something to do with the eventual defeat of the dragons?

Was it "eyes you'll shut forever", or "eyes now shut forever? I heard it as the later while watching.

My first assumption was that she was referring to the people on her list and/or the people she had the assassin dude kill.

But with the always predictable "I really want to tell you guys but I won't but I'll kind of hint at it" crowd chiming in that to reveal it would spoil something significant, I think we can probably rule that out.

Since she can see the future, the two sentences are pretty much equivalent.

The thought that the wall was a plateau required you to ignore Jon Snow looking down on several occasions at things going on below, as well as Tyrion "pissing off the end of the world" (he wouldn't be pissing south toward Westeros), and the multiple tunnel scenes shot from beyond the wall POV. But whatever.

The dragon theory with Arya is interesting. She was very intrigued by the history of the dragons and the sisters who rode them in Season 1.

I still think the torturer is a Karstark. He knew the fate of the the Karstark kid that was strangled by the Kingslayer. Don't know if that was common knowledge. But his archery skills could still make him connected to the Greyjoys, who are "known for their skills in archery" (Theon) and "failed rebellions" (Luwin).

If the torturer knew of Robb's beheading of Lord Karstark then Theon's loyalty to the Starks could be another reason for the torture, but I think Theon was captured and strung up before any of that went down.

Who was the guy that agreed to let Robb marry him off to Lord frey's ugly daughter?

Edmure Tully (Robbs uncle....Catlyn's brother...). He's the one Robb was yelling at earlier this season about capturing "a mill". He's also the one that kept shooting arrows into the river and missing the casket boat (or whatever it's called) until his uncle (Robb's great uncle) the Blackfish (old guy in black armor hanging around Robb these days) grabbed the bow and flaming arrow away from him and nailed it on the first try.

I don't know much about him but he's coming across like a chump thus far in the show.

Brown eyes-Hound, blue eyes-Joff, green eyes-Cersi.

Maybe she'll kill the people she keeps listing. Just a guess if the eye color matches.

His "This is awkward" line while standing before her and Shae was pretty great.

The whole point of him talking about the wedding was to be funny and show how gay Loras is because most guys don't even know what a French or fringe sleeve is (i sure as hell don't), so it cracks me up that some of you -guys- are *****ing about him not calling it the right thing.

I don't think the point was sleeve terminology, it's that France doesn't exist in this world.

One thing I didn't quite follow, the red priestess took Gendry because he's Robert Baratheon's *******, and thus holds some political value, correct? Or do we just not have any idea yet?
jbanda
How long do you want to ignore this user?
She's hung up on getting "blood of kings" for some reason. Since Gendry is related to Stannis and Robert, he's got it too.
fig96
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks.

One other random thing, and this may be partially a book question but doesn't spoil anything, in his conversation with Lady Olenna (who is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters) Tywinn mentions that if the rumors about Jamie and Cersei were true then Joffrey wouldn't be king. Is that simply because he might not be Robert's son, or some other royal code?
ChipFTAC01
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes, because if the world knew that Jamie was Joffrey's father instead of Robert, then Joffrey has no claim to the throne.

That's Stannis' whole argument. Because Robert had no legitimate heirs (between his ******* children and his actual children that were actually Jamie's) then his crown and titles and lands flow to his next of kin which would be Stannis.
JJxvi
How long do you want to ignore this user?
She's alluding to the fact that if he isn't Robert's son he wouldn't be king.
