There was a story making the rounds about Starbucks opening a chain of wine bars around the country. Well, friend told me tonight that we're getting one. All she said was "The Starbucks near Scott & White in College Station." Will try and find out more specifics.

Work has also begun at Chimney Hill. The Republic will be rebuilt on that site on the western side, opposite of where it sits now. Also, a Black Walnut restaurant will be constructed there. If you've been to their Woodlands location you know this will be a nice addition for CS.
Also, the demolition is complete for the Embassy Suites Hotel. This will be where the old Black-Eyed Pea was located.
The old Lovan Care buildings next to the former black-Eyed Pea is rumored to be a Dunkin Donuts. There a sign out there as of yesterday. Actually never been to one, but here the coffee is good.

Black Walnut will be great. They're expanding like crazy. Good, casual option for lunch, brunch and dinner.

What's the ETA on the Icon Hotel? They've been working on it longer than it took to tear down and build a new west side of Kyle Field and it's still just an erector set.

What's going in at the CS Hastings location again? I looked for it on the OP and didn't find it, but there are too many pages to wade through.
Also, the former Ace Hardware on Welborn may have been a meeting place for a church for about 15 minutes. Now there is a sign out for Ashley Furniture home store sign outside the building.

Sure wish it was an ACE hardware again. Love my ACE. With all the new growth and building in the area a good ACE should thrive ! I keep telling my ACE owner in Cypress he needs to open a store in S CS
