I'm much better at this than I used to be, but still miss a hell of a lot.

I was looking at what I thought was the "mascara" around the eye, and thought maybe a Moc, but it's not. I certainly don't want to whack anything that's a good guy, besides, I need them, as the moles will likely be back in the yard in a month, or two.

A good Hognose or Rat Snake would be extremely beneficial.

Was walking by a creek and went to mess with some killdee parents and young, walking back came across this guy. 18 inches roughly.

I always tell people if you see a snake and have to ask how in the hell did it get up there? There's a good chance it's a rat
