I catch those spiny tree lizards every 3-4 months or so. One always tries to hide under a rock or in some leaf litter, and the kids love to see/touch them.

That's a good sized one!

Rat Snake in Smithville. The cat that will not leave my house killed it and left it for me as a gift. Coincidentally I have named the cat Mouse-Rat.

Juvie CM's look an awful lot like copperheads. Photo certainly is blurry, but bands are "full" all around the snake and appear "pixelated". Not betting the house, but sticking with my original ID.

ETA: Juvie CM's will have that green tail as well.

I always confuse juvenile racers and juvenile coachwhips but am pretty sure it is a juvenile racer. It is not a rat snake

The pattern on the head looked like Rat Snake to me. I didn't even notice how the pattern fades out on the tail. I'm sure you are correct.

I am SO happy one of you finally spelled out cottonmouth (CM) I was racking my brain and could only come up with copperhead (CH) and water moccasin (WM). My head kept wanting to merge the two to make CopperMoccasin.
