FWIW, here in Arizona there are a lot of rattlesnake varieties. What helps me distinguish the Western Diamondback from say a Mojave rattler is the very high contrast, black and white bands near the rattle on a WD. Some old geezers here in AZ refer to them as coon snakes because of the black and white tail.vander54 said:
