Charles Towne Landing is chock full of copperheads; the wide variety of oaks plus rodents from the marsh on the Ashley gives them a great environment to live in. One of us sees one every visit except during winter. Plenty of non-venomous snakes, lizards, and skinks to go around too.

If you want moccasins and timber rattlers Francis Marion National Forest is the place to go. Supposedly a fair amount of hogs too, but I haven't seen any.

Unlocked phone, local sim cards. Congo and Zambia have good cell coverage, but can't say about other places.

Apparently 2 or 3?

I moved here 5 1/2 years ago. My industry is basically dead in TX so moving back is highly doubtful. I miss the hill country every day.

Hell I just stopped in a bad part of Charlotte and said oh ****. I cannot imagine being in Africa and not being able to haul ass. Well, I guess you can haul ass to the next danger zone.

A lot of little villages have gasoline stands, where a guy will be selling glass coke bottles full of gas. Og course, their main clientele drives mopeds, not jeeps.
