we just trekked up Mount Bonnell f the first time. TIL that Custer was based in Austin w the Sixth Cav... how did I not know this before?

also, no kids begging but plenty of tourists asking to have their pictures taken and at least one hungry and/or tired toddler - so glad we're past that beat down in our family

in true explorer fashion we followed a winding road up to The Oasis and we are now enjoying a native drink- margaritas

Made it through Tuscaloosa this past weekend. All that dust in the quad during the tailgating reminded me of being on the African plains - just like ol' dewshboy.
