Looks like you can follow him on a variety of social media platforms. Based on the FaceBook he's in England with the Jeep. Enjoying $6USD/Gallon gasoline.

Which of those countries is MOST hospitable? I met a couple guys from Namibia who portrayed it as being pretty welcoming; of course they were in the safari biz - so there' that.
Not necessarily the most modern (South Africa?), but the most hospitable/safest???

I would say going to Cape Town is probably your best bet as an American for hospitality.
The more touristy areas are going to be more welcome to tourists because they know where their money comes from. So places where there are lots of Safaris.
The places you want to visit in Africa are going to be few and far between.

watched that vice guide to liberia several years ago and just gave it a re-watch thinking i would be somewhat desensitized since i'd seen it before...nope.
I've been on this board a while now. Based on the initial interest shown 4 pages in before the trip has even started, I'd say this thread has the potential to rank in the top 10 threads of all time on the OB. That's assuming this guy really goes through with the trip and lives more than a week and we can follow his antics. Don't think it will make Doss or mfbarnes status, but certainly thread of the summer potential here. Watchlisted and saved.

Congrats man! We've got a 5 yr old and a 2 year old. One of each, it's the best. Completely life changing and exhausting, but the best. Can't imagine my life without them now.
Ok, sorry to derail. Now back to trying to predict how brutally this guy is going to meet his demise. Been a lot of talk somfsr about rebels and warlords. But seriously that continent is huge. I think he's equally at risk from breaking down in the middle of nowhere in that toy and dying of thirst or exposure to the elements. I put my money on them finding him 50 miiles in to some desert, broken down, dead from dehydration and sun blindness, with the hyenas carrying off what's left to feed their pups. But hey, he's got his own logo and a "catchy" slogan, so there's that to leave behind as a legacy for future generations.
