Looks like it's at Universal on Lankershim so I might have to run over to In N Out in Studio City for lunch.

In a couple of weeks, if and when SAG strikes, image these picket lines doubling in size, with *actors* dressing up, dancing, etc as well.

That's pretty good spin, Neil. I mean, you are a writer after all.

Or you could just let the car through.

Absolutely wild that we've got writers striking on the basis of AI, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back

The future is now!

On the SAG-AFTRA Website:

With respect to non-AMPTP, independently-produced content that comes within the scope of a strike order, SAG-AFTRA anticipates offering an "Interim Agreement" that would allow such productions to continue working during a strike provided that the producer agrees to abide by the terms that SAG-AFTRA is seeking from the AMPTP. In that case, the "Interim Agreement" would largely be conformed to the AMPTP agreement on a going-forward basis once the membership ratifies successor agreements with the AMPTP.

I've got three basic theatrical agreement features greenlit and ready to go so this is good news. However one still needs a script and the writer is WGA.

The craziest part about tall this is that theres no remedy.

How are writers able to prove that their intellectual property is being stolen and reprocessed by AI.

We in a real mess with all this.

How do you prove the source material for AI generated content that is similar to your IP?

Looks like this is going to affect Comic-Con, more so if the actors end up striking

I filed my signatory applications with the DGA and SAG Tuesday. Rolling the dice.

To be fair, we have a catalogue of about 100 years worth of entertainment material. I'd be fine with my current to watch list. Plus Hollywood isn't the end all, be all for entertainment. Did they forget foreign film tv and film exists? Sports, hobbies do as well.....let's not even get started on the amount of books that exist in the world....A bit of a self righteous attitude if you ask me.

This is such a weird statement. He didn't claim hollywood to be the end all and be all for entertainment. He expressed the importance of writers, which, pretty much every single thing you listed there employs writers in some capacity.

I have a movie needing to shoot July 24 so I am taking a chance on SAG making a deal with the AMPTP.

It's only 10am over there, if we hear something today, I'd imagine it wouldn't be until later today

An email went out late last night with a questionnaire inquiring about picket locations and asking for strike captain volunteers.

But word from the inside is they are confident a deal will be reached. Whether or not that deal gets ratified is another story. Actors seem strike happy at the moment.

Last week SAG negotiations were extended by a week and a half. Wednesday, July 12 is the new deadline. So if there's not an agreement by then, the actors strike as well.

In other words, push the above timeline back 12-ish days as well. But remember, it's just someone's theory/guess.

Again, personally, I'm really hoping that all of Hollywood shuts down come Wednesday. All the pressure will then shift to the studios, effectively forcing them to come to agreements with both SAG and the WGA much faster, IMO. Potentially sometime in August. But if SAG settles next week, and the WGA is the only guild left striking, I'm afraid that strike will continue until September/October. Who knows...
