aren't network shows on ABC CBS NBC and Fox already bleak?
and does this impact Jeopardy?
I had read that wheel of fortune films a whole months worth of episodes in a few days rapid fire, and then the whole month most people are off.TCTTS said:cone said:

Yes, broadcast fare is already bleak, but that's relatively speaking, seeing as broadcast shows still see WAY more viewership than just about everything else on TV. They're just not high as they were 10-15 years ago.
As for Jeopardy, the questions written for the show *are* written by WGA writers, but all questions for the current season were written in advance of the strike, and despite blowback from picketers, this past week Ken Jennings hosted the final week of the season. That said, I have no idea how far out they shoot, or for how many days/weeks/months the current stash of filmed episodes will last.

Not sure if that's true but it is always different contestants….jeopardy always has a returning champion so I'd guess they'd still film in chunks just not as aggressive as WoF
That being said from what I read they only sound like they have roughly a months worth of episodes done ahead of time…

How many writers make similar money? If there are 50 writers making a quarter of what the CEOs make is that fair? The fight isn't really about wage, it's about compensation and residuals.
Michael Schur, the writer interviewed in the podcast above, has as estimated net worth well over $100 million after signing a 5-year $100 million deal with Universal before the pandemic.
As a DGA Unit Production Manager, my rate for the basic agreement on location is $8698 per week + $1604 location fee + Pension and Health.snowdog90 said:tysker said:

All good questions. I don't know the answers. People should be payed what they're worth, but who decides that? Great writers should make great money, but how much is that? It's not a new problem, but has always bothered me in situations where the people at the top make more money rhan some small countries.
Should note that there’s absolutely no wiggle room on this. The second leading bond company IFG collapsed in 2013, so Film Finances has had a near monopoly, bonding more than 90% of indies. They have no incentive to budge.
