I'm definitely gonna wait to withhold judgment on this one until more facts come out. For all we know, the roommate could have been egging him on, but on the other end of the spectrum, they could have been friends for years and this dude initially found out he was capable of something like this when he looked at his phone and saw a discord message asking him to please go pick up the gun he just used to murder someone. If it's the latter, I'm willing to give him some grace for taking a little time to collect himself and digest everything before going to the cops (assuming he didn't have any indication that this kid was an imminent threat to anyone else, obviously).
