Okay, heard a former FBI agent talking about pre-incident video since a lot of planning had to be involved. Including recon after the tent had been put up.

So that image may be from a pre-incident recon trip, perhaps.

So we're at:

1. Not an antique "Mauser"
2. More like a Savage type model WalMart special 397 plus tax
3. A kid and a frail kid

4 FBI needs help

That's a nothing special gun and scope. Gonna be easy to trace down ownership.

Literally looks a rifle/scope combo deal they sell at places like CDNN or AIM Surplus. The scope is definitely inexpensive, probably a Vortex. I can't tell the make of the rifle from the photo.

I keep seeing "Mauser" like that means anything. It's just a Mauser style bolt action. Not some WWI relic someone found in papa's garage.

All that said, one trip to the range and that rifle could easily be lethal at 200+ yards.

I have both weapons (Mauser and Savage)...what makes you think Savage? This is a serious question...I could be wrong.
“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.”

The pics don't show him carrying a rifle. Must be taken from after the shooting or on a prior occasion when he was scouting the position.

Remember, don't assume the slow release of information from the FBI means they really need our help identifying this person. For all we know, they could be trying to scare him into turning his phone back on to check for updates or even trying to identify any co-conspirators (i.e., people texting him offering help escaping, etc).

I just have to believe that the full force of the FBI vs an emotionally charged college student will not be a battle that lasts much longer.

It's interesting to me that the suspect just didn't leave the rifle on the roof, if it's not traceable. Seems very risky to carry that out of the area, even if was in a towel or box.

Considering authorities have the rifle, I would suspect he left it behind.

Its hard to blend into a fleeing crowd if you are carrying a long-rifle moments after a shooting.

If he is on campus wifi, they should be able to pull the data from the nearest access point. Being that he was not in the crowd, that would be probably on other access points, it should be able to narrow it down.

He left the rifle in the woods per reports, so he had to of carried it off the building. Hence my comment just above yours.

That's what they will look at if not already started. Previous video of individuals in that area who will be scouting. Might have to go back in time a ways.

A private jet left Provo, UTAH airport an hour after the shooting

A Private Jet(N888KG) left Provo Airport, which is a 12-minute drive from Utah Valley University, an hour after Charlie Kirk was shot.

30 minutes into the Flight, the Plane Illegally dropped off its ADS-B (which shows its Location, Altitude and Speed to Air Traffic Control), and reappeared 45 minutes later, heading back to Provo.

Anyone hear more about this?

Yeah I'm confused by that as well. If you're gonna carry it off the roof with you, why drop it in the woods at that point? Why not park as close to that building as possible, get out of there as quickly as possible, and go dispose of it somewhere more remote/outside the immediate search perimeter?

I haven't looked at any aerial views of campus, but the "woods" may have been close to this exit point from the building and an obvious place to dump a rifle if you are trying to blend in with the crowd leaving campus.

If you have access to a private jet, you aren't going to be kitted up with a $200 rifle and a towel.

Why is it ridiculous? How normal is it that ADS-B tracking is off? Could it have just been poor reception or something?

Sorry for bothering some of you all that are chronically online and know everything about this already.

Based upon japantiger's post below about running the pic thru Grok, I was able to find the below rifle online, Mauser M18 with Vortex Copperhead scope.

perhaps he left roof, dropped rifle in woods, returned to campus / crowd to blend in and get to his vehicle ?

The letter agencies don't crowd source info/images like this in big cases.
They crowd source the narrative, so everyone latches on.

I ran the photo thru GROK....

Based on the uploaded image, this appears to be a Mauser M18 bolt-action rifle. Key identifying features include the black polymer stock with soft-grip inlays, the straight-down bolt handle with a synthetic ball end, the cold-hammer-forged sporter barrel (approximately 22 inches long with a matte black finish), the flush-fitting detachable 5-round box magazine, and the overall matte black receiver and barrel finish.

Likely Vortex Copperhead 4-12x44mm (with BDC reticle) is a common factory or retailer package option for the Mauser M18

It's good on these type of things...but not perfect.

Either way, it does not look like a converted surplus Army rifle...new model. If M18; a very standard model purchased in volume.

Again, why not just leave the rifle on the roof to begin with, if it's not traceable? Makes zero sense to me.

I'm not sure what the authorities are calling 'woods', but there's no woods on that campus (I've been on that campus)... or really that close. You have to head East towards the mountains to get to real woods. But maybe they're just calling a stand of a few planted trees as 'woods'.

That's a known corporate jet. Provo airport is a large jet repair facilty. Jets are repaired and test-flown all day there.
