Social worker is interesting. The scholarship acceptance video made me think he is on the autism spectrum somewhere.

I don't know anything about Utah state university, but his social circles there might be interesting. I think he was an engineering major too, again, not the most socially adept set of folks (no offense anyone).

My BIL had a full blown TDS breakdown last night because my wife wouldn't sit and listen to him lecture her about how the right is to blame for all the violence. The rest of my wife's family is either center or right of center. He looks normal, no crazy hair, no tattoos, no piercings. He just can't converse about things. It's really weird actually, I feel sorry for these people that are so lost. He was radicalized at UNT

I agree, that's why again I encourage open debate with my kids on topics as appropriate. We also don't engage much in our house with social media and to be quite honest I know my kids have a lot to learn there still. We're part of a small community in Bloomington Indiana that feels big because of our church.

The main point I'm trying to make is that we as conservative dads and liberal dads must raise children that know how to think for themselves and aren't so vulnerable to flavor of the month political talking points. Ultimately the better ideas should win out.

Yep, I went to grade school with a kid from a conservative family in a small town. He was a super smart nerdy type. His dad told my dad "I've lost my son". He apparently wants nothing to do with his parents after attending t.u. and becoming super liberal.

I don't think so. I imagine his wife Erika will speak to the judge and jury after he is convicted and ask for him to not be given the death penalty. Charlie and Erika are Christians, and I believe that she will forgive him and ask for him to get life in prison instead. I may be wrong about this, but I don't think I will be.

Yeah, you don't know anything about me if you thought that was me personally making an excuse for him. I was raised by a woman who perpetuated her childhood abuse on her own children, then blamed it on her "trauma" as a get-out-of-jail free card.
