I'd refrain from calling the dad out. Likely a decent guy who went to his pastor for advice on what to do then turned his son in rather than let him escape.

The shooter's ideology, or lack thereof, will get figured out eventually but it won't change the response and celebration that the left has indulged in. There is no middle ground with people that celebrate non-violent people being assassinated. There is no middle ground with people that turn a blind eye to the rampant violence that our judicial system has been allowing to go on through their ****ed up bail and release system. There is no middle ground with people that continue to vote for that system and those leaders despite saying the right things on message boards.
For those that saw what we saw and at least tried something different (even voting 3rd party) there is some possible common ground. Unfortunately as has been shown in the past week, that first group I was talking about is very large.

In my home, I have encouraged my children to freely engage in the economy of ideas. I don't want to control their ideas, just like I don't want others to control their ideas. I am trying to raise free thinkers. On any given day you might find me criticizing Trump or Biden. Not everything Reagan did was great and not everything Clinton did was bad.
I think that's what so many conservative dads miss (and I am very conservative) is that they think they will be able to raise a conservative by kind of forcing the process. Demonizing the other side and insulting their positions without serious debate isn't the safeguard you think it is. All it does is leave an opening for a liberal groomer to come in one day and "explain" what liberals "really believe in."
I disagree with that strongly, I'm a conservative because the principles of the positions I take are much more logically sound then most if not all liberal positions. I am raising my children to be true free thinkers because I know they will have choices to make in the future and I hope they'll choose wisely. And when that groomer comes to my kids, I hope that they are prepared to defeat their ideas in debate.
