Not confessing to or cooperating with authorities? Is this guy going to get the Lee Harvey Oswald treatment?

Hard attempt at that defense when he turned himself in when it wasn't (at least publicly) announced he was the one they were looking for.

Isn't this just typical lawyering telling your client to shut up and wait for the process to play out?

Basically, past that phase. He's only got insanity and pleading mercy of the court at this point.

Forgive my ignorance as I struggle with keeping the trans stuff straight (no pun intended). This trans lover of Charlie Kirk's cowardly assassin, was it an XX pretending to be XY or XY pretending to be XX?

Born XY trying to become XX...

So basically, two pitchers, but one wanted to be a full time catcher...

My understanding is it's the latter. The Gov has been using male pronouns.

Thanks.

I can only assume that growing up in Utah, there would be a lot of self-loathing that accompanied his same-sex attraction. I wonder if the lover transitioning somehow made him more comfortable with the idea and that is why he took so much offense at the "anti-trans" things he believed Charlie Kirk stood for.

Complete speculation.

Kash already confirmed they got positive DNA matching of the suspect in custody from the screwdriver and the towel. A different group is processing the rifle and they don't have those results yet

I am so ignorant about it but DNA forensics always seem so incredible to me. Makes me wonder how anyone gets away with any crime like this anymore.

Its becoming increasingly difficult for criminals to get away with it. There are companies (may be one in Houston I think) that help law enforcement track down perps through genealogy databases and have been successful in even solving decades old cold cases where DNA was present in the original case.

Unless they have your DNA in a database (or get a sample) to match it to, it is relatively useless.

He was likely swabbed in his cheek upon his arrest. They can match it to that sample.

Don't even need a full match. That's the fun part of these genealogy databases. A detective may not have enough probable cause to get a warrant for something, but if you can say that the evidence they have, plus a familial match from a database can give enough for the warrant.

The impression I got is that the shooter's boyfriend rolled over relatively easily. Does this mean he was all talk, and never actually expected Robinson to take action? And he's genuinely abhorred that it came to pass?

Or does this mean he was 100% on board, but once it happened he realized how truly horrific it was?

I dunno. Just seems interesting how quickly he rolled over and gave them the evidence needed to implicate Robinson.

So the shooter is homosexual

My guess is the cops had a search warrant for the contents of his phone already. But that's just a guess.

So the shooter is homosexual

Does it matter? Sounds like to two co-dependent mental patients who found comfort in each other, and one of them decided to commit murder in the name of perversion...

Seems like he's cooperating to trying and avoid a very long jail sentence.

If it can be proven that he had any foreknowledge whatsoever he should be in jail for a very long time.

So basically neither of my thoughts. He doesn't regret the murder, but is just terrified of having to be held to account for them.

Typical liberal behavior.

Keep in mind a lot of Mormons, or their family members, have submitted DNA to various repositories to get family members posthumously saved/baptized etc.

Also, note that discord lied.

And that is and has been known for a while by the potential co-conspirators.

Yeah - just to clarify I think this guy will be brought to justice by the help of DNA. I was just responding to someone who seemed perplexed that anyone could get away with a crime in this day and age.
nortex97
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Agreed. And of courser the FBI confirmed the dna match to the towel (wrapped around the gun) etc. already too. Clearly, they had probable cause for a DNA sample to confirm. I think he's matched at this point to the ammo, towel, gun, and needless to say his phone and other devices.

His refusal to cooperate is not really helping him, only trying to shield others, imho.

1000% protecting his comrades.. I bet there is a bakers dozen (at least) that knew of his intentions. I bet the trans community was just WAITING for him to pull the trigger.

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out. I have no doubt a bunch of them have sat around in their dark corner of the internet for years and cosplayed as revolutionaries while spinning revenge murder fantasies. But now one of them actually went and did it. I suspect there will be a few who knew about it and also knew he was serious about following through. Probably a few others who knew but never thought he'd actually do it. Will raise some interesting legal issues.

I think the discord allows the feds to come in for charges. Even the ones that claim they knew but didn't think he would do it should get some jail time. Need them in the system.

Could be. But the irony is, their best defense may be showing that these kinds of claims were made all the time. As such, most did not actually take them seriously. Not saying that makes it right but could be an interesting legal battle.

Discord has come out and said that they didnt find anything. Im not sure they're being truthful if there's verified discord messages with him claiming responsibility

1st of all I'll say I wish he had pointed the rifle at a cop and was shot on sight. I also am hoping for the death penalty for him...

I don't think cooperating would help him. He's more than likely not going to get a plea deal. I think his options are the death penalty or life without parole.

He may be trying to shield others but I'd bet his lawyer is telling him to not answer any questions.

I'm very glad he was taken alive. No sweeping the prevalence of leftist violence under the rug and keeps the spotlight on it as the investigation and trial and penalty phase are carried out.

I firmly believe that this capture was a divine mercy to give us a chance as a society to root out the evil amongst us
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

We sing Hallelujah! The Lamb has overcome!
