His dad turned him in. That is a good man to do that.

A "serious nation" would give him a trial. "Execute immediately" is something people say to try to sound tough on the internet.

Immediately after trial and appeals have expired. But the appeals should happen immediately after the trial and not be dragged for so many years/decades

Ironically it's actually "unserious nations" that use summary justice and execute people on the spot.

Needs to be charged high enough to send him to Super Max so his inevitable years to decades of appeals aren't comfortable

It took the Feds 6 years to execute McVeigh. And that is after he waived appeals.

We need to speed that up.

Maybe, we might find out that the dad didn't do a good job here, but as many of us with children can attest to, at a certain point your children are vulnerable to outside influences.

I pray often that my kids stay on the right path. Not right IMO to condemn the dad yet until we find out more about the situation.

Exactly- I am not going to lay blame at the father at this point- especially if he did actually turn the son in. Its possible the son got mind warped in college or something, as often happens. If it ends up being the Skye Valadez dude, there also is probably some mental/spiritual issues going on

$20 says he was on an FBI watchlist. Is on SSRIs. And was being groomed by someone from a foreign government.

I'd take that bet.

This is true. Just sending your kid to college, especially for liberal arts degree, is a major risk factor. Colleges are a cesspool of bad influences these days.

Foreign government part is nonsense. There is enough America haters in the American left to do the grooming.

My son, who is 9 and has no access at home to devices, saw a slow motion video of the CK assassination at school the day it happened. There's nowhere to hide your children from evil influences. You can only do your best to walk with them past those influences and teach them to maintain focus on the correct influences.

Was just talking to my wife about that. If my son did a heinous act I would turn him in. I would be bawling the whole way knowing the outcome but would not hide him just because he was my son.

People vastly, vastly overestimate how quickly DNA can be done.

Same for phone data. Getting the subpoenas to pull the data from the companies doesn't happen overnight.

I don't. I work specifically in that industry. You are just uninformed if you think it takes days/weeks to sequence DNA today, respectfully. The actual sequencing run-time is well under 24 hours for a sufficient identification.

And the phone companies typically wouldn't require a subpoena to hand this over. Note VZW/ATT both testified to congress they were never asked for the data regarding the faux-pipe bomber on J6, contra FBI claims it was corrupted.

And, subpoena's can be issued within hours when needed, from a magistrate or district court judge. Does anyone really think this priority case would have been delayed for days by a subpoena process?

Oh, and the government still has vast surveillance powers that many don't recognize as part of the Patriot Act.

And, the enormous NSA surveillance operation data center happens to be housed…in Utah, where they intercept quite literally billions of American's communications per day. It's well over 100 trillion calculations per second nowadays. While not as impressive as the CCP surveillance state, it's staggering.

There's no mystery to who this guy is, is my point, but some mystery as to why the federal government/law enforcement wants to pretend it's a partial mystery.

Chances he's Mormon? Just the fact that a family minister had enough sway to convince anyone accused of this to turn themselves in, and the fact that they're in Utah.

And if so, makes me wonder about some sort of childhood trauma from the church.
