I've struggled the past three days to figure out how we rail against someone who punished Charlie Kirk for words he said because they made them mad, and then turn around and get people fired for words they said that make us mad. It makes my brain sore trying to reason this out. The left and right in this country is off the rails and I find both sides to be at fault.

Has it been reported yet what the shooter did in the 3-4 years since dropping out of USU after his first semester? Maybe just went back home and gamed and stayed online all the time?? Seems like that's the period he became radicalized perhaps

So do we know anything about his motives besides he doesn't like "hate speech"?
The left seems convinced he was some alt right nick Fuentes type who hated Israel and jews and killed Kirk because of it and the right seems convinced he was indoctrinated into leftism/antifa through discord and college.

There is zero proof of that. There was something about him donating to Trump. Proven false but libs don't care.

CNN debunks some online theories below:
- Posts falsely claim suspect Tyler Robinson is seen in a photo wearing a shirt associated with the Democratic Socialists of America. Fact: The photo shows a different man who has no connection to the murder.
- Users have shared false claims that federal records show Robinson was a donor to Donald Trump's presidential campaign in 2020. Fact: The actual donor is a different man with the same first and last name; the suspect has no record of federal election donations.
- A doctored image purports to show Robinson wearing a pro-Trump shirt. Fact: The image was created from a photo of Robinson wearing a plain shirt without any political messages.
- Users have falsely claimed Robinson is a registered Republican. Fact: Robinson is registered as unaffiliated with a political party and is listed as "inactive," meaning he hasn't voted in either of the last two general elections.
- Posts falsely claiming Robinson's father works or worked in the sheriff's office in Washington County, Utah. Fact: The sheriff's office issued a statement debunking the claim, saying a retired deputy who also has the last name Robinson is "NOT connected or related to" the suspect.

My personal opinion...It's not that hard to notice the difference between the two sides.
The words from both sides are not the same.
Charlie preached peaceful discourse, which got him killed. The people fired, was for extremely hateful and inappropriate comments. Employers aren't typically ashamed for their employees having peaceful discussions...they do tend to disassociate when they celebrate gruesome murder.
Surely it doesnt take much to see the difference between the two?
One side is WAY more off the rails than the other. That's extremely obvious when you consider the child mutilation, the gender confusion, the Antifa crimes, the riots, burning of buildings, trans murders, illegal immigration, Illegal crimes, forced medical care, etc etc etc.
I mean, is that the same as the right saying things you dont like? Because peaceful discourse is one thing. Insanity morphing into unsafe conditions is another.
Frankly, to not see the difference takes a lot of willful ignorance.

Maybe, we might find out that the dad didn't do a good job here, but as many of us with children can attest to, at a certain point your children are vulnerable to outside influences.
I pray often that my kids stay on the right path. Not right IMO to condemn the dad yet until we find out more about the situation.

Dang the way the tone shifts instanty in this thread from all the false information and the desire from yall to run with anything that you want to be true is crazy
And of course the shooter doesn't fit the demographics to be the boogeyman and so now the deflection and conspiracy theories start up again.
It's almost like we should be blaming the shooter rather than each other.
thousands of leftists celebrating online, happy to watch close up videos of the fountain of blood gushing out of Charlie Kirk's neck as life left his body is my main concern.
There's somewhere around 350 million people in this country. When I say the extremists are not the norm, I mean it. You're complaining about thousands and somehow think it's okay to lump another 150 million or so people in with them.
your boy lumped me in with 75 million other of his citizens as "extremists"
your comrades are the cause of where we are now.
your comrades who vote like you are so happy about the political assassination that just took place.
Jesus Christ, y'all have really lost the plot. I mean right wing circles refuse to acknowledge the political murder by a MAGA person in Minnesota. Have celebrated the pickup driver who had a picture of Joe Biden tied up on the back of his truck. Have made hilarious jokes about the guy who beat Paul Pelosi with a hammer. And this is just something the left caused? This is not just a right wing problem, but the inability to accept that maybe we are part of the problem is causing the political and democratic decline of this country.
I think it's time that people accept the fact (on both sides of the political spectrum) that we've been radicalized by the internet and our own information bubbles. This board is a perfect example of this complete untethering from the truth and desire to believe whatever politically divides this country the most. Wake up. I hope "the terminally online right" takes this opportunity to reflect on just how out of control the need to believe whatever pushes us to "civil war". Go outside. America is a wonderful place with wonderful people of all political persuasions. Or sit on the internet and Fox News circlejerking about the civil war you're ready to fight - I'm sure that will make your life better.
I think anyone that really believes the right wing is free of blame from instigating rhetoric and somehow the left is the only culprit is just downright willfully ignorant (to put it nicely).
We completely lost the ability to be reasonable in the country and we somehow think if we don't agree with someone they are wrong and it's just a big ass circus.
The Internet and social media is a huge problem in making things worse. The things people have said online would never in a billion years be said to a target audience or person within arms length. The keyboard warrior can say what they wish with anonymity and free of repercussion in most cases and that has spilled into real life which is why you have people arguing and debating in political debates and forums that are massive ********s. Likewise the ones being pissed off now feel it's totally fine to doxx someone or shoot them in the neck.
It's absolutely ****ing crazy where we are and the worst of it is that it's a handful of *******s that have big platforms and loud speakers causing this mess.
Even on this forum, you cannot have a differing opinion without someone using a shallow insult as a response. I've seen several
Posters make very good contributions only to have some dork respond with "typical liberal" or "sorry your guy lost". It's unbecoming, proves the responder has nothing of substance or intelligence to properly respond or debate, and it just degrades the discussion. It's like watching my teenagers argue with each other. We fix them by killing the discussion until they can come act like people who want to actually be heard but that's tougher to to in the internet.
Typical liberal.
You are the violent ones that cause this. Going back decades and even over a century, the leftists are always the ones that get violent, throughout world history. Leftism in its many forms has killed hundreds of millions of people.
Capitalism and our Constitution have saved millions and benefited the entire world.
You didn't have a good response and neither do any other libs. Liberalism is a mental disorder. There is no defending it.
Thanks for proving the point. That was way easier than expected.

Grok Summary
Based on available reports from police interviews, family statements, and social media analysis following Tyler Robinson's arrest, he appears to have been a follower of Nick Fuentes and aligned with far-right conservative ideologiesspecifically, the white nationalist "Groyper" movement that Fuentes leads. Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah raised in a Republican family, had reportedly grown "more political" in recent years and expressed admiration for Fuentes during family discussions, viewing Charlie Kirk (the conservative activist he is accused of assassinating) as insufficiently radical or "not conservative enough." This sentiment aligns with the Groypers' long-standing public feuds against Kirk and Turning Point USA for being too mainstream or "fake conservatives."
Key indicators include:
Social media evidence: Photos and posts linked to Robinson reference Groyper memes (e.g., a variant of the Pepe the Frog symbol used by Fuentes' followers), leading to speculation that he was part of the online "Groyper Army," which promotes ultranationalist, white supremacist views under the guise of ironic humor. Classmates described him as a "Reddit kid," consistent with immersion in far-right online spaces like 4chan and Discord servers where Groypers congregate.
Reported motivations: According to Utah officials and family interviews, Robinson hated Kirk for allegedly spreading "hate" but from a far-right perspectivebelieving Kirk diluted Trump's "America First" message and was a "fascist" gatekeeper, echoing Fuentes' criticisms. This intra-conservative rift, known as the "Groyper Wars," dates back to 2019 when Fuentes' followers disrupted Kirk's events.
Background context: Robinson was not formally affiliated with a political party (though his parents are registered Republicans) and had no prior criminal history, but his online activity and engravings on bullet casings (initially misinterpreted as anti-fascist but later tied to satirical far-right video game memes co-opted by Groypers) point to far-right radicalization. He was active in Discord, where he planned the shooting, and sources confirm he "reportedly admired Nick Fuentes."
While investigations are ongoing and some details (like exact Discord contacts) remain under review, the consensus from law enforcement, journalists, and public analysis is that Robinson's actions stemmed from far-right extremism, not left-wing or unrelated motives. Fuentes himself has denied direct ties but condemned the violence, amid deleted posts from far-right figures distancing themselves.

In a phone interview on Friday, someone who said they were friends with Robinson in high school, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that the suspect was "pretty left on everything" and was "the only member of his family that was really leftist".
"The rest of his family was very hard Republican," the friend said.
Around sophomore year, the friend said, Robinson became more extreme in his political views and would "always just be ranting and arguing about them".

According to Utah officials + police interviews with his family, Tyler Robinson hated Charlie Kirk because Kirk wasn't conservative enough. (Robinson reportedly admired Nick Fuentes). GOPer's now scrubbing X posts about dems faster than DOJ erases Trump name in Epstein files.

President Biden is not dropping out. So democrats have to make a choice: (a) keep whining about Biden a few more weeks and thereby guarantee Trump wins. Or (b) start defending Biden again and give him a shot at beating Trump. This isn’t complicated.
