I was talking to a client yesterday about his book, which includes a lot about fear and I said, "Well, fear is the mind killer."
This led to a very awkward 2 minutes of the guy raving about how great that was, and how smart I was for making it up, and he was going to use it as the title of the book.
Eventually, I had to confess. To no one's surprise, he had never heard of Dune.

That said, the *actual* final trailer apparently releases tomorrow. Personally, I don't think we need one, but at this point in the marketing cycle, for these massive blockbusters, this type of trailer is usually an IMAX special, and a quicker two-minutes or under. Kind of like a last quick little restaurant bathroom hit of spice, to last until we get to the club...

Eh, it's not too off the rails though each book is a little weirder. Its moreso God Emperor of Dune where it gets particularly weird
You could probably tell a lot about a person based on where they start to find the Dune Series to be really weird.
Like, if someone makes it through Chapterhouse and hasn't found parts of it to be really strange they may not be the sort of person you want around your kids.

God Emperor is a weird bridge between the first 3 and last 2.
Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse: Dune are superb science fiction novels, but they are about as connected to Dune as Prometheus and Covenant are to the Aliens film series.

I have watched it 3-4 times and never felt like it's a long movie. I have watched 90 minute movies that felt like they drug on forever.
They left out the dinner scene where Paul shows his political might. I just can't get over it.

I know this has been discussed on here before. Didn't they film parts of it for Part I, but it didn't make the Final Cut? I can't remember the details.
If it does exist on film out there, then hopefully one day down the road we get an extended trilogy release like the LOTR extended edition.
(Which I still need to watch, by the way).
