Addressing the offensive line has been a key for Mike Elko and the Aggies during the transfer portal window, and now they welcome another big addition from an SEC rival.
Alabama offensive tackle Wilkin Formby announced his transfer to Texas A&M, giving the Aggies another key addition with position versatility and SEC experience in the trenches.
At 6-foot-7 and 325 pounds, Formby started 14 games in 2025, working at both right tackle and right guard as a redshirt sophomore. He earned Alabama Offensive Lineman of the Week for a four-knockdown performance at right tackle against South Carolina, and he registered several games of four or more knockdown blocks on the season.
As a redshirt freshman in 2024, he started two games at right tackle and logged key minutes in nine games. He played in three games in 2023 before redshirting.
Originally out of Tuscaloosa (AL) Northridge, Formby was regarded as a four-star prospect and opted for Alabama over offers from the likes of Auburn, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Florida, LSU, Miami and USC.
Upon entering the portal, the Aggies quickly got him on campus for a visit, and now he becomes A&M’s 12th transfer portal addition and the fourth along the offensive line.
He arrives in Aggieland with two years of eligibility.
