What channel would that be? I only get them on t.v. when they play the Rangers.

Now we know the source of your jealousy.

Sorry we aren't ****ty like your team.
Does not compute. Just like the fact that the Astros aren't on t.v. in large portions of Houston, but the Rangers are.

Do what?
It's a fact. All providers offer FSSW with your subscription. Unless you have Comcast, you have to purchase the Sports Package to get the Astros/Rockets channel. Or if you have Suddenlink, you are out of luck since they don't carry that channel at all.

Not a fact at all. I just went and looked at Directv as an example. Att sports and Fox sports are both add ons unless you have the highest package.

Show us on the doll where the Astros and the Astros fans hurt you.

Haters gonna hate, so have fun with that.

Our boys are going to be tough no matter what's thrown at them. Pun partially intended.

Oh and you do know that you can just turn the channel when the Astros come on you don't even have to watch them. Problem solved.
Are you somehow under the impression I watch the Astros when they're not playing the Rangers?

I'm not sure where you get "hurt" by finding the Astros and their fans playing the poor downtrodden victim a rather hilarious situation.

Everyone else can just stuff it.
Every non-astro professional athlete is saying the same thing. At some point you have to stop saying "They're just jealous of the success", "They didn't play well enough to beat us anyways", "They were probably doing it too", or "They can **** off" and eventually you have to realize if everyone but a very small select group of people are saying the same thing, that small select group of people is probably missing a piece a of the picture. It is quite literally Flexbone Astros Fans vs the world at this point.

Wrong. Only ones getting media times are the ones crying and saying they're going to throw at them.

Oh good gosh. When faced with a tough situation, let's call on Joe Musgrove to be the voice of reason. Give me a break. First of all, he's a total nobody. Second, it's easy for him to say because he knows MLB isn't going to investigation all 30 teams.
LOL plenty of hall of famers, former players, current players, have all weighed in saying this is a league wide issue.

I live in Houston and have Directv. I don't purchase the sports package so I don't get the SEC Network or the Astros/Rockets network. For some reason I do get the Big 10 Network. I also get FSSW, which I also had when I had Suddenlink and Comcast. Everybody gets FSSW.

On I-30 yesterday in Fort Worth one of the ADOT message Boards said "Astro's cannot steal your signs or maybe this sign" I passed it as it changed and didn't get to see what it was about or for, but it did piss me off.

Do you want to come over to my house and watch FSSW tonight? I live in KW and I'm a decent guy. Just ask Dr. Doctor, who I didn't know but drove home from downtown to KW during the Imelda flood.

I'm not going to lie to you pal. I pay $128/month for my Directv subscription. Just got the ebill this AM.

Edit: you may be looking at the national package. I don't have all of the Fox Sports Network options across the country, but they include FSSW since it is in our local network. I assume that if I lived in Ohio I would get FS Ohio but couldn't get FSSW unless I bought the national package.

Regardless, the Astros/Rockets network should come standard with any basic cable subscription and it doesn't.

I have Suddenlink in Kingwood. I get every Rangers game, and only get the Astros if they are playing Texas.

4 draft picks and $5 mill is a slap on the wrist. I don't get all the "poor me" astro grief. The BoSox will get slapped too, but big picture, it's not like the league has to punish them that much for it to be fairly equivalent.

The poor me is just fans defending a team that got caught doing something that was done across the league for many years. 24 hour talking heads acting like the Astros are criminals when they didn't even break any official rule is annoying. None of this happened when bosox and Yankees got caught in 2017, and they continued to do it.

I'd say the extent it was being done elsewhere is being WAY overstated by whiny bich fans that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. I mean, you've got an idiot here whining for 10 pages arguing that knowing fastball vs off speed isnt helpful. I also think how that Boston/NY story broke was largely focused on them cheating each other whereas this has a lot more facts available on how extended and blatant it was. And sorry, but the "official rule" angle makes anyone arguing it look like a complete dip***** That is bot helping

I really am not getting the point you keep trying to make with this. No one has ever insinuated that there hasn't been cheating throughout the history of the sport. It was especially prevalent in the early years of the game. To seemingly act like the Astros are being punished for doing the same that's been going on for 120 years is moronic.

I'm saying electronic sign stealing started over 100 years ago. Astros are the only ones to undergo a full investigation. It's moronic to think the stros were the only ones doing stuff like this, especially when plenty of current and former player and managers have said as much.

I'm saying an incident 120 years ago when the game was absolutely dirty as hell has precisely zero relevance to what is happening here. We'll ignore that Boston is currently undergoing a full investigation. I've seen nothing indicating that this type of thing was massively prevalent in recent history. Things may have been handled differently in the past but I also recall reading something that teams were instructed to knock it off and the Astros didn't. This whoa is me attitude is absurd. Hell, you need to go no further than the oft repeated story of Hinch destroying the monitors they were using twice. They knew it was wrong. There is zero doubt about that. Hopefully you'll feel better when Boston gets whacked and Cora get his ban.

Can't believe I'm chiming in on this non-sensical thread but here goes.

As an Astros fan I find my self doing the "what about them" justification in my mind a lot, it's just natural. The vitriol spewed by so many players made me pause though and think that there is no way "everyone" was doing it if there are so many commenting so strongly against it. The whispers about so many other teams having "systems" and the fact that Beltran didn't just pull this out of his ass in 2017 leads me to believe that other teams, be that all, most or some, were doing SOMETHING. Most are running with the narrative that it's the electronics that took this too far but to me where the Astros pushed past the line was not the electronics, but the trash can banging. Things like the Girardi video that resurfaced make me think that other teams had systems for stealing signs (YES network cameras) but they only worked when they had runners on base. The Astros could run their system every home at bat with a system that was as simple as it was brazen with the trash cans and I think that's what is separating this from what other teams were doing.

TLDR; it's not the electronics, it's the trash cans

Either baseball is full of guys that are MASSIVE hypocrites and at EXTREME risk of being exposed as such (after seeing Rafael Palmiero demonstrate for everyone on how getting caught in massive hypocrisy can result in a player becoming a huge pariah shunned by the entire sport), or far more likely, most other teams were not doing anything remotely close to what the astros were, or even anything at all beyond the historical runner on 2nd sneak peak . This "everyone was doing it" argument is more flimsy and tired than Madonna's vagina

There is overwhelming evidence that sign stealing is a major problem across the league. It just takes a bit of research (which the media doesn't seem to bother doing) to find the evidence. For example, here is an article (https://www.si.com/mlb/2018/11/02/surveillance-cameras-sign-stealing-baseball-dodgers-astros) from 2018 in SI in which the Dodger's (along with the Astros) are using their video room to steal signs:

Quote:

In Los Angeles, the Dodgers' video room three years ago played host to starter Zack Greinke watching for weaknesses in opposing hitters. This season, the set up has a much different objective.

This year, if you walked into the same room you would have found a small army of 20-something analysts in polo shirts and slacks pouring over video from the in-house cameras, like the security room at a Vegas casino. Most teams train their cameras on the catcher, the pitcher (from several angles), the third base coach and the dugout.
These cameras are not used for training purposes. They are used expressly for stealing signs and deciphering "tells" from pitchers.

Here (https://www.dodgersnation.com/dodgers-were-accused-of-sign-stealing-in-2018-per-the-athletic/2020/01/08/) the Dodgers are accused by the Brewers and Mets of sign stealing:

Quote:

Some unnamed members of the Milwaukee Brewers told the Athletic during the 2018 National League Championship Series that they were concerned the Dodgers were using video to steal their signs. Members of the New York Mets said in May that they suspected Dodgers hitters knew what was coming in their four-game series they played in Los Angeles.

Dodgers again by the Brewers (https://www.sny.tv/mets/news/mets-suspicious-that-dodgers-are-stealing-signs-i-think-they-have-a-system/307580492):

Quote:

"They use video people to get sequences," a Brewers source told The Athletic regarding the Dodgers last October. "It's known throughout the league. MLB knows it's an issue."
Here's an article (https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2855354-you-cant-trust-nobody-inside-mlbs-war-on-high-tech-sign-stealing) from Oct 2019, which accuses the Astros, Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Nationals, Blue Jays, and Rangers of using video to steal signs at some level.

You've also got the Joe Girardi video where he admits to sign stealing with the Yankees. The 2017 Yankees and Red Sox were both fined for electronic sign stealing.

You can also just look at the league actions and see that it's a massive problem across the league. In 2018, the league change the rules to require all video feeds with in stadiums be on an 8 second delay. They also require an MLB official to be in the video replay room because players were often going into the room to watch the live feed (https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/red-sox/mlb-cheaters-beware-baseball-finally-addressing-sign-stealing-problem). In the 2018 playoffs, center field scouting cameras were turned off. The MLB started recording dugout phones in 2018. They didn't make all of the these rule changes because of one team. They did it because sign stealing is a large problem across the league.

I do think the Astros were probably ahead of other teams in that they figured out an easy way to let the batter know without a runner on 2nd, but that's a minor difference. Most of the league is still stealing signs electronically.

TLDR, the league is full of massive hypocrites.
