Seriously. He needs to train with Dodo all off-season. Minimum 5000 3 attempts.
Nah, you play great defense when it matters and you play well offensively. you are acting like they will have to play perfect to win, and thats just not the caseInfection_Ag11 said:PatAg said:The teams defense allows them to beat anyoneInfection_Ag11 said:
If you put Luka on a team with a bunch of guys who can shoot it's pretty much impossible to stop
If this teams gets hot they can beat anyone in a 7 game series
But they aren't going to be able to play defense well enough to beat a healthy Phoenix or GS on that basis alone. You have to shoot REALLY well to win a series against them.

Seriously, why is Luka still in the game at this point? Did we learn nothing from Game 82?

Ejections seem a bit much. It was a good hard foul. But such is life.
The attempt wasn't bull**** at all. He threw Luka to the floor 100%.DannyDuberstein said:Ol Jock 99 said:

It was the bull**** attempt to throw him hard to the floor at the end while he was already going down. That was dirty AF and he knew it as soon as he did it

The Mavericks and Celtics have arguably been the two most impressive defenses of the playoffs. both teams have a VERY similar roster makeup.
Mavericks (Starting Lineup)
PG - Jalen Brunson (6'1) - Shot-creator/playmaker (Somewhat switchable on the perimeter, Mavericks normally try to hide him on defense)
SG - Luka Doncic (6'7) - Shot-creator/playmaker (Switchable on the perimeter)
SF - Reggie Bullock (6'6) - 3 and D (Switchable on the perimeter)
PF - Dorian Finney-Smith (6'7) - 3 and D (Switchable on the perimeter)
C - Dwight Powell (6'10) - Lob threat (Switchable on the perimeter)
(Key Bench Contributors)
Spencer Dinwiddie (6'6) - Shot-creator/playmaker (Switchable on the perimeter)
Maxi Kleber (6'10) - 3 and D (less perimeter defense and more interior defense, but can hold his own on the perimeter) (Switchable on the perimeter)
Josh Green (6'5) - defensive specialist (Switchable on the perimeter)
Davis Bertans (6'10) - 3-PT specialist (NOT Switchable on the perimeter)
Boston (Starting Lineup) (I haven't watched every Celtics game like I have with the Mavs so Celtics fans feel free to correct me on these)
PG - Marcus Smart (6'4) - All-around player, DPOTY (Switchable on the perimeter)
SG - Jaylen Brown (6'6) - Scorer and D (Switchable on the perimeter)
SF - Jayson Tatum (6'8) - Shot-creator/scorer and D (Switchable on the perimeter)
PF - Al Horford (6'9) - 3 and D? (Switchable on the perimeter)
C - Rob Williams (6'8) - Defensive monster/lob threat (Switchable on the perimeter)
(Key Bench Contributors)
Grant Williams (6'6) - 3 and D (Switchable on the perimeter)
Derrick White (6'4) - Defensive specialist who can score a little (Switchable on the perimeter)
Daniel Theis (6'9) - (somewhat) 3 and D (less perimeter defense and more interior defense, but can hold his own on the perimeter) (Switchable on the perimeter)
Payton Pritchard (6'1) - 3 pt specialist (Somewhat (not really) switchable on the perimeter)
Hopefully you can start to see some similarities. Almost everyone in the rotation for both teams except for Bertans and Pritchard (who both have gotten little run in the playoffs) is switchable on the perimeter. Neither team is running out that 7 footer Zubac/Adams/Whiteside/Capela type of player that is going to get repeatedly beat off the bounce once switched onto a guard. Hell, neither team has a player above 6'10 that plays at all (6'9 for the Celts, arguably the best defensive team this year).
The era of the 7'1 rim protector/rebounder is coming to an end, and I believe many NBA teams will start following this Mavs/Celtics blueprint of 1-5 being switchable.
Thoughts?
For sure, probably should have clarified that. Kleber is 100% a better all around defender than Powell other than drawing offensive fouls by getting slapped in the face.PatAg said:
Fairly sure Kleber is considered a better defender from perimeter in than Powell is.
