I guess I'm just finding it hard to believe that high school metrosexual, who appears extremely timid in that clip, was doing something to an NBA players family member worthy of ejection literally right behind the bench.

Via the subreddit from someone there the kid was being a ****** the entire game to CP3s mom talking trash non stop and apparently touched her at which point she left the game.

It's an ugly situation all around.
The kid obviously did something to CP3's family, but Chris Paul also looks bad in this situation by yelling at what looks like a scrawny teen whose mom probably bought him those tickets.
The kid is harmless and CP3 can think he's tough for yelling at a scrawny kid with security in between him and anyone in the crowd.
Either way, if you're that close to the game you gotta have some sense. It could be family members or someone important from either the mavs or suns organization sitting next to you. How hard is it to just go to a game and keep to yourself?

Interesting Chris Paul's mom and wife have not posted anything on social media confirming the incident or that it was actually this kid harassing them. No video confirming it either--yet. Perhaps it is because the incident did not happen or this kid is not the one involved. Maybe the kid did it too, but it is sad that social media is now judge and jury.

My one take away from this entire thing is that the term "putting hands on" needs to die. Every time I read it I imagine the person posting it looks like B-Rad from Malibu's Most Wanted.
T&p for the dad. I'm sure his wife immediately called him yelling at the top of her lungs "do you know what your son did at the game today?! I didn't even want to take them to this mess! Today is Mother's Day and I deserve MY day!"

I mean, the Mavericks released an official statement and there's video of the kid getting escorted out and Chris Paul yelling at him.
Whether or not it was a big nothing-burger and everyone was over-reacting is certainly up for debate until we know more, but I don't think you can saying nothing happened.
But ultimately it's less about "Mavs fans" and more about spectator sports in general. In the age of everyone wanting to be a social media star, fans encouraged to be "tough on the opposing team", and venues pushing alcohol sales every chance they get, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion **** will happen, and happen more often.
Pair that with the era of everyone looking to take offense at everything and here we are.
We need to start self-policing better for sure.

The reference for us here would be, if you see someone behaving like a Texas Tech fan you should say something or stop them.

Reflecting this morning on a couple of things...
(1) Crowder is a dirty player. It's official.
He should have been tossed after he racked Doncic.
He should have gotten a flagrant one when he hit Doncic in the face, and then he should have gotten t'd up after he grabbed his arm under the basket.
And he should have gotten tossed for throwing Doncic to the ground after Ayton fouled him. This one was wild.

And during every play, they made no mention of the cheap shots by Crowder. They also missed Bridges moving his feet in on a rebound for luka causing him to fall awkwardly. Booker hitting people in faces multiple time...

We all can picture how this probably went down. CP's mom is likely a vocal fan. Couple of drunk Mavericks fans start giving it back to her and think they can get under her skin by constantly wishing her a happy mother's day on a day where CP is getting embarrassed on the court. It works, but they take it too far and initiate contact and get tossed.

I'm finally in a place to watch the game tonight.
Been on the east coast for the first four games.

Not the most insightful take ever, but we know the Suns are going to come out guns blazing. We just have to match the effort, even if we are down after the first 5-6 minutes. As long as we are working hard, I wont be worried.
And we've started every game down at least 6. That shouldn't phase us a bit. Wish we wouldn't start Dwight, but I don't think that's gonna happen.

And the rumor is that they were saying something like "hope you are having a happy Mother's Day" after he fouled out. That's it. Plus, the kid CP3 was yelling at wasn't even the person who touched his mom's shoulder. And he's telling the teenager that he's going to fight him after the game. It's all WWF style ridiculous.
And on top of that, his mom is known to be ridiculous and beyond annoying at games. So if she's going to act like that, she better be able to take someone telling her happy mother's day.
Bottom line: CP3 is a *****. And playoff basketball is great.
