I was at the game, and I've never seen anything like it.
Bullock, Kleber, and Bertans combined for 0-21, and 17 of those were 3s. If you add in Brunson, they we 3-33, and 0-22 from 3.
I was there too...really just a gross, weird game all around. The Knicks didn't even play well at all...they finished 26.5% from three and 42.9% from the field. The Mavs outdid that by shooting 13.6% from three and 31.4% from the field.
Midway through the third, it really felt like the Mavs were making a run. It felt like a turning point when Luka knocked down a three and then picked off Evan Fournier and took it home for an easy layup. From there, the Mavs cut it down to 17, had a possession where they came up with two offensive rebounds, and Doe Doe dunked it on a play where it looked like he was fouled. Could have been 15 points with him at the line and a surge of momentum for the Mavs. The refs called offensive goaltending which felt pretty suspect and that totally killed all momentum and it seemed like the team gave up after that. Officiating as a whole felt pretty suspect, but what is new!
Maxi finished 0-7 and it felt like every single three he shot was an AGGRESSIVE brick off the front iron. I really cannot stand him.
