Man, KP and Kleber both had that rebound at the end of regulation but were fighting over it and allowed AD to break it up and then we just got unlucky that the ball bounced right to Ellington behind the line. Sick losing that one.
That lost really sucked but damn, KP looks good
This franchise never fails to disappoint. Impressive consistency.

I want him shooting less 3's but he did hit a big one if I recall. His energy, movement without the ball and defensive presence have been consistently there since he came back from the injury.

I've made peace with the fact that the mavs need to eat their veggies. Lukas extension doesn't kick in until next season. I know it feels like we NEED to do something now but any potential move would either be a lateral one or one that just digs the hole deeper.
The KP trade at the time was a good trade. Every GM would have made it. It didn't work. Now we've just got to ride out that deal until we can make another big one. Anything else is just **** swapping.
So I say patience. Unless you have the opportunity to get off KPs deal without giving up picks or taking back additional money, I'd just hold out until we have all our picks and cap space again. We only have 1 more real shot at this.

I mean, he's got 6 years under contract with the Mavs. I wouldn't expect him to put pressure on the team for at least 2 more years. Summer of 2023. That's the time to make moves. KPs deal will either be expired or expiring (depending on his player option) and we'll have ALL of our future draft picks eligible for trade. Took my son to his first mavericks game last night for part of his Christmas present. I hadn't been to a mavs game since they played at reunion arena.
Overall, good experience even if the well known players on both teams didn't play.

I truly don't understand anymore how Dwight Powell is still in the league, much less starting for an aspiring playoff team. The dude is horrible at everything a center is supposed to be good at except for the occasional lob. I don't care if it's Russell Westbrook in the corner, you NEVER help off a person behind the three-point line in a two point game. And nice last possession Kidd/Brunson after a timeout lol. What a disappointing game.
Those last two possessions were as bad as they could possibly be. So frustrating.
Seem like a mentally happier worse team
