He clearly can't carry a team like Luka.


I think that's a bad take because he's not running the offense. AND he was still the best offensive option
in both of these games.

I liked him taking charge early in both games, and he was most definitely full on charging into it. He looked great. I'm totally in the KP camp now.

Unlikely this applies to anyone, but if there is a Mavs fan in East Ark or Western TN, the Mavs play Grizzlies next Wed (12/8), and Grizzlies have cyber Monday sale today with tickets behind the Mavs bench (or most any lower bowl seat) going for under $50 each. (Plus the standard $600 in TicketMaster fees).

Organization is at a crossroads. They punted (or failed) on acquiring talent the last 2-3 years. Now they have no cap space, no good draft picks, no assets to trade and can't even trade a pick until 2025. I really have no idea how they even can improve at this point. Donnie and Cuban boxed this organization in and I don't think it is hyperbole to say that they have jeopardized the Luka era.

Well, they have one asset. One card. A card that could be traded off for extreme value. The Ace of Spades might be the best in the deck, but by itself?

I doubt they would even consider it. But Luka without a complement isn't going to get anything but individual all-star awards.

Trading Luka would be the absolute last thing to do. Short of him developing "mental health issues" and demanding a trade, that isn't on the table until 3-4 years from now. The Mavs can clear the deck in that 3 year period and will pretty much have just one crack at getting it right. I hope there is a clever way to tweak this roster and salvage this year, but I just don't see it. I would be more inclined to pivot the other way and try to salvage value from Brunson before he is an unrestricted free agent. In reality though, if you start making the roster worse for this season then you just piss Luka off, catch 22.

Weird to think that in a parallel universe we have Saddiq Bey, Desmond Bane, Luka and Seth Curry. That would be a good young core with plenty of optimism

My point exactly. They are hamstrung. There is very limited ability to improve the roster for several years. Unless the unicorn can 1 get it together AND 2 stay healthy. Which appears highly unlikely.

Luka wants to win. Competing for 7th for the next 3 years isn't going to cut it. How many years is Luka going to give them?

During one of the timeouts in the first quarter tonight, Luka stormed off the court and sat at the end of the bench. Cuban actually went up to him- either to fire him up or get in his grill because it was clear Cuban was talking down to Luka just sitting there. Something you don't see often

After an embarrassing loss to a Zion-less Pels team, we rest our two stars (despite the fact we don't play again until Tuesday) and forfeit a game to the Grizzlies. Makes no sense. This is a braindead organization. Hope we get our **** together before Luka bounces and goes to win elsewhere.

This is so depressing. Of course the Mavs felt the need to take a project that can't shoot over two established 3-D players in Bane and Bey. Just complete idiocy starting at the top. The FO somehow managed to miss horribly on all three picks in that draft and then trade arguably a player who is perfect playing next to Luka and the definition of consistency for a complete dud. Just embarrassing ineptitude

Last night was maddening to watch. Bane killed us on both ends.

And what was Brunson doing? He was not aggressive at all and never looked to score or create. Was that the game plan by Kidd? And yes im bitter bc i went big on Brunson over 18 points once I heard Luka and KP were both out.

Or maybe bane is just that good on D and caused Brunson to not even try to score/create. Which is even more maddening bc he should be on our team.

We've looked great tonight. Defensively sound and shots are falling.

I love the fire that Luka brings to the game, but he needs to get his temper under control.
