Without questioning moderation, it would be nice to hear why this keeps happening. I mean, a codebase that can't deal with special characters and routinely gets effed in the a by spammers either has a phantom notification problem or things actually are getting deleted.

I wasn't being obtuse. By the time I got back around to this thread, there were actual posts, so I did not see the phantom notification. Just wondering if you knew because you had seen the post before it was gone, or if it was one of yours.

Every time I open this thread there's some kind of staff activity. This time a ban handed out because they didn't like the size of the Lina pic. I don't think I've seen such an obsession with a thread on the Houston forum before. Maybe Lina herself is a mod.
And this is a post of someone looking to be upset. In any thread, on any forum, staff will simply take down pictures that large. They were trying to be more sensitive to the complaints of moderation here so didn't, instead they posted to find a smaller version.
I guess I'll do a condescending laugh cry emoji back at you since you want to be the mod's knight in shining armor. It was nice of you to say all the things you did for them. I'm sure they appreciate it. However, you failed to address why they banned them.

Except that when my watchlist gets bumped because someone whined about moderation, I can see the whining post.

I mean...my posting history shows clearly that I am no fan of the moderation policy on this site (been banned a number of times), but your original post was just looking for something to complain about. I made the file size smaller on the Lina pic, and it was a fair request. When taking screenshots from phones, the resolution is stupid big. It was like a 6mb photo in PNG format.
What a time to be alive!
As a serial moderation complainer, I have actually been impressed with the way moderation has been going on this board since the board revolted earlier this year. I wish the entire site was conducted this way. I still wish moderation was wholly transparent, but that seems like an unwinnable fight.
