Local gov't types are used to mainly dealing w/ beat reporters who just want their daily/weekly quotes by deadline. In Lina's unique case, she also spends an insane amount of time talking to national political outlets who will praise her as a young "rising star" without going into any details about the job.
It's a bit different when they have to deal with general assignment/investigative reporters who are used to talking about the sweeps week ratings they can pull and DGAF about maintaining nice relationships or access to local bureaucrats.

Still...I have to give Oberg credit for bird-dogin' this one. He is doing a good job, as he usually does on local political coverage.
While some of these folks overdo it on the background, as a reporter you have to assume that every story has a group of people who are just hearing about it.
Michael Berry spent his first segment talking about it and starting off his 2nd with it as well.

There is a box called "corrupt and controllable" that Lina ticks. The fact that Lina is in hot water here is fantastic news for the Dems. They might have even encouraged the investigation in some way.
