Isn't the goal to get people inside well in advance of the storm? I saw people riding bikes in my neighborhood just before the sirens started going off. People are dumb sometimes
Only thing I can hear in Houston is the crude oil going through the pipelines to the refineries .. pretty calm otherwise
Wind is legit, some of the strongest I've experienced living in DFW the past 20+ years. Power flashes everywhere.
It is dangerous to sound these sirens if there isn't an immediate need to take shelter. People may ignore them next time when there's a real tornado.JDL 96 said:

These are strong straight line winds, are you saying they shouldn't give 5-10 minutes advance notice before dangerous weather impacts an area?

Mine tried to take off with 3 anchors last storm that came through so I upped it to 6 for this one.
